For our very first MIX CONTROL series, we have invited DJ Lovecatt to mix together a flurry of groovy stompers! 

"I had many ideas and ways I wanted to approach this mix. I wanted to choose a theme and create creative constraints but as the mix took form, improvisation usually takes over in the moment for me. So, in the in the end this mix reflects what I felt in the exact moment I recorded it: flowing and obsession over endless groove"

DJ LoveCatt is a Copenhagen based DJ. She has a beating heart for house music which she delivers with surprising spontaneity, sprinkled with inspirations from disco and funk. DJ LoveCatt delivers a playful and adventurous set looking to both past, present, and future house. She mixes songs that will make you move and songs you have yet to explore.

MIX CONTROL 002 is here with no other than DJ Estrella, a guy who means serious business with an impressive selection of some the most smokin' old school groovy ass tech house you can find - did someone say Housey Doingz? The mix is slamming from start to finish, leaving you begging for more! 

"I wanted to create the atmosphere of what I think a Pleasure Control party at 2 am should feel like. Boiling with tension and enjoyment, twisted with uncertainty of wtf is this journey you’ve just embarked on. Like, you shouldn’t feel too confident that you know where we’re going from here. I’m pretty sure I found the right combination of tracks to unlock that feeling"

While frequenting the Copenhagen rave scene for years, DJ Estrella has developed personal preferences when it comes to club music. Mainly under the umbrella of dusty 90s UK and US tech house, DJ Estrella’s swift selections leaves the dancefloor energetic and bustling through busy percussions, longing vocals and dreamy pads. In essence, it’s speedy and extroverted house music pregnant with trance elements that playfully push the party forward.

MIX CONTROL 002: DJ ESTRELLA

MIX CONTROL 003 features @ida_aya - a powerful, fast-emerging  DJ on the Copenhagen scene, and with good reason! Ida Aya delivers a high-octane mix that keeps your blood steam pumping. She smoothly weaves between breaks, acid and trancy house sounds - even a bit a of bass in there too. She displays a sense of versatility, ultimately leading to an energetic experience!

"My motivation for this mix has been based on balancing opposites. Here I’m challenging soft sounds to merge with hard hitting beats. My intention has been to let go and therefore showcase that you don’t need to fit in a specific box to express yourself or your creativity. I generally try to embrace imperfection, which I think is an important step in letting go of control. To aid this flow I let strong vocals guide me throughout the mix."

MIX CONTROL 003: IDA AYA

BUCKLE UP, because LUCKY LUBE delivers a real belter of a ride! A mix with many faces, a journey comprised by many moods and feelings: mellow, uplifting, dreamy, pacey, energetic, edgy - a mix that can be listened to over and over as it fits a many moods, atmosphere and situations. This mix got it all!  

"My style is like my ADHD: cheeky, unpredictable and quick to adapt to a room’s energy.
Genre-wise, it’s rooted in house music with a touch of prog, breaks and 90s infused with gay anthems and a bit of diva & pop.

I started DJing as a means of self-expression and a testament to my love for house music. I am driven by the desire to create spaces truly free from daily societal norms. This is what I strive to do as co-founder of Group Therapy: I’m happiest when at closing hour, someone comes around to tell me, “thank you, this was the first party in town where I felt comfortable dancing naked.” I live for that!"

Lucky Lube is the pseudonym of Carlo Molino — an Italian-born, Copenhagen-based DJ committed to nursing dance-floor fetishes for hedonism and euphoria. Whether he's burning through trance, breaks or fast-paced diva house, you can always count on Lucky Lube for melodic, bouncy catharsis.

He's also the co-founder of Group Therapy, a series of safer-space-oriented raves, and half of the duo Carlo and Selma. Lucky Lube has as many vibes as he does aliases, but one thing's for sure: he'll kick-start a slippery, rapturous dance-floor — no matter what.

MIX CONTROL 004: LUCKY LUBE

DJ 2LATE brings a serious flurry of ghettotech heaters! It is hard and fast-paced, but still fun. A mix where you almost lose your breath due the sheer energy and drive it brings! 

"I wanted to create something powerful with a lot of attitude, but still keeping some space for a laugh. I think it’s important not to forget, that going to parties and raves is about having fun. Sometimes letting yourself go to a silly lyrics, while laughing about it all, is exactly what we need. "

Based in Copenhagen, DJ 2LATE former NØW is an emerging DJ and producer playing and releasing music, locally and internationally, on various labels since 2020. With eclectic sets swaying in between techno and psytrance, ghettotech, breakbeat and hardcore, DJ 2LATE is a concept build on high energy and atmosphere more than genres.

MIX CONTROL 006: DJ 2LATE

This mix is...absolutely...mental!!  1 hour of ruthlessness on every level - an uncompromising journey into the realms of euphoric slam after slam after slam of pounding beats! And yet, still, manages to slot in some cute latin beats, melting together a sound universe of fast past-faced crazeeeee! We love it - and you will too!!

"My previous mixes have a more sleek and cool sound to them, so I wanted to explore a more fun and flirty vibe in perfect time for spring while still keeping my signature high-paced energy. The goal has been to melt campy toplines and cute melodies together with ruthless, distorted beats which has been very fun to experiment with. I've also incorporated a lot of latin-infused techno which is a current obsession of mine!

Since their debut in 2021, HEX ELECTRONIX has been a shooting star within the Danish DJ scene, playing at venues such as Ved Siden Af, Distortion and Copenhagen Pride. Through a playful mixture of techno, hyperpop, electro and breaks, their goal is to invite femme queerness into the sounds of the rave. The HEX experience is a little bit campy, a little bit gritty, and always unapologetically intense in its energy.

MIX CONTROL 005: HEX ELECTRONIX

This mix is an experimental ride, a deep dive into the soundscapes that comprises Adexia's approach as a DJ and artist. It brings an experience which can be characterized as a breath of fresh air into the landscape of DJ-mixes that we are accustomed to. This is a real listening-experiences that challenges you to open your mind into crossovers of pop, trap and electronica in one fascinating journey.

"I really wanted to get “all around” with this mix - I wanted to showcase some of the different “genres” (not a fan of that word lol) that I enjoy, especially during the summer.

Most of my friends already know that I love experimental pop music, so that’s really where it all started. I freestyled almost everything on this mix because I wanted to. This summer I’m trying to loosen up and not care about perfecting every detail - in everything that I do. Let’s make errors and enjoy the sun. However I do feel very radiant everytime I listen to these tracks and I hope you will too!   "

ADEXIA (she/her) is a danish DJ and electronic music producer based in Copenhagen. She graduatedfrom Future Female Sounds DJ Academy in June 2022 and is a part of the SheCanPlay musiccommunity of 2023.

With her innovative and exhilarating music selection, she has been playing visceral sets at festivalsand venues such as Store Vega, Copenhagen Pride, Fluid Festival, Den Anden Side, AlternativeFashion Week, Baggen, Depot Radio and more.

MIX CONTROL 007: ADEXIA

MIX CONTROL 008 is delivered by Panini Radio co-founder, TS Kahuna. This mix is something out of the ordinary as TS Kahuna manages to consistently mix 2-3 tracks together throughout the whole set, done on 4 decks. In a self-challenging task, TS Kahuna brings a sort of midtempo eclectic flurry of trippiness imbued in percussive rhythms. Definitely one of the more interesting takes on a mix we've encountered and serves lots rhythms that scratches the surface of clubbing peak-hour delirium.

In the realm of musical exploration, the journey of a DJ often mirrors the diverse and dynamic nature of their sonic ventures. In this mix, TS Kahuna goes the extra mile to encapsulate one year of personal evolution and dancefloor resonance. Recorded in September 2023, after a six-month long process that went into this three-channel, 130 something BPM mix for the club, mixing the essence of old-school grooves with a contemporary selection of tracks. A sonic carpet of snares and percussions, trippy grooves in a constant quest to defy genre constraints.

MIX CONTROL 008: TS KAHUNA

For MIX CONTROL 009, Mari To The Future brings hammering 134 BPM mix of 80's Chicago house rawness and 90's house grooves. A Copenhagen-based female DJ that delivers that crisp whif of pure house grooves is rare and definitely a refreshing feat! From start to finish, her mix relentlessly bangs out stomping tunezzz. It is gold to any house music lover - a true testament to house music as an evergreen genre, a widely known fact in the global electronic community!

"In this mix, I aim to share the essence of the house music I’ve been playing since returning to Denmark from Japan to reflect this transition in my life. I like to think of it as a piece of memory of the beloved tracks I have been playing at the clubs the last 10 months. The mix is filled with everything I love in a great house set and is heavily infused with nostalgic 90s electronic rarities <3 It’s packed with cute melodies, uplifting undertones, screaming vocals, and groovy basslines sprinkled with some naughty acid, breakbeats, and hip-house. It’s really just a fun, rave-ready (& slightly trippy) 134-BPM house set that screams trouble in all the right ways "

Pleasure Control is a Copenhagen-based event and art collective. We merge music, art and culture with togetherness. Diversity and multiculturality are our identity, and we are more than 20 people across 10 nationalities. 

We creative high-quality scenography productions, perpetuated through our DIY Safer Space electronic music events/raves for everyone across gender and nationality.
