Hypersex is a collective love letter to the club culture. We believe we can dance our way to a better world. A world with room for everyone, regardless of their origin, political views, race, religion, gender, and sexuality.
Much like hypertext is a system designed to multiply connections between ideas, “Hypersex” was designed to multiply connections between people. It’s also a metaphor for the dancefloor: a place where, throughout history, we came together and created something new.
When I started working on it in 2016, an unprecedented refugee crisis was happening and Europe was turning its back on it. In the US, a massacre had just taken place in a gay nightclub in Orlando and the country was getting ready to elect Donald Trump. I had to respond. So I reached out to like-minded artists I admired, and set out to create my most collaborative project yet.
Hypersex is truly a collaborative effort: it features songs with Fritz Helder, Best Youth, Iwona of Rebeka, Georgia Anne Muldrow, DA CHICK, Marta Ren, Guilherme Tomé Ribeiro, Shermar Davis and Tee Flowers. The artwork is by Bráulio Amado, who I have been working with in all my albums, and whom I involved to the point of naming songs according to his illustration ideas, and not just the usual opposite. Videos were made by filmmakers Bruno Ferreira, Nuno Xico, João Pedro Vale and Nuno Alexandre Ferreira, Paco Cruz and more to come, and also a fanzine with a dozen guest illustrators which we’ll unveil very soon.
The world we live in is getting sadder and grey. We don’t expect to change it with a record, but we might as well add some color to it.

I realized everything I've done recently is a response to a world where kindness among fellow human beings has been diminishing at an alarming pace. From Trump to Brexit over to Le Pen, the harmoniously globalized planet we were promised is nowhere to be found. Instead, love and kindness are often frowned upon, as a sometimes cheesy sentiment. I really believe that through dancing, the ultimate expression of love and happiness, we're able to combat this overwhelmingly larger climate of fear, distrust and intolerance. Share your love with someone.

French label Broken District is back again with a new sampler, bringing together six different producers to explore deep beats of many varieties. The label is not bound by tempo or stylistic limitations, seeking to venture into the palettes of deep house, hip-hop, broken beat, nu disco and more. Their sophomore release continues the format of their inaugural V/A and boasts a roster of solid up-and-comers and underground vets alike.

Sam Irl, who's contribution comes in the B2 slot of the 12", is one of the latter. The Austrian producer has long pleased ears with treats from his own Jazz & Milk imprint, in addition to releases on a clutch of other solid imprints. "On The Mend" is a driving, nu-disco track that borrows heavily from 80's new wave aesthetics. A straight-up kick/clap and rocking bassline gets layered upon by filtered chords and pads, percussion, and an ethereal vocal sample. It's a higher tempo track that could sit nicely as a sunrise jam in a late night set. The filtered and shiny groove helping you cruise into the new day.

Getting There From Here (with Todd Edwards) – Miami Horror & Lazywax Remix

Electronic band from Gothenburg, Sweden. 

The two members are brothers Arvid Niklasson and Erik Niklasson. They released their first album Electronic Music From The Swedish Leftcoast in 2003 which was nominated for a swedish grammy in 2004.

They released their second album, Home Is Where Your Heart Was, on July 28, 2008.
