Propulse and Zachary Gray do one another a courtesy with this split remix release. Gray’s take on Propulse’s ‘Corium’ includes Bibio-style guitar passages with an electro rhythm through the kaleidoscopic lens of Boards of Canada. Propulse’s refix of Gray’s ‘Palindromes’ takes form in glacial drones and submersive sub-frequencies, sounding something like Oneohtrix Point Never doing Eno. Beauty stuff.

Jaga Jazzist - 'Bananfluer Overalt' (Clark Remix)

Having taken a more passive role providing edits and live instrumentation for the likes of Errors and Clark in recent years, Wax Stag’s sophomore record II (duh) is a supple extension of that pastoral sound. The track titles tell the whole story, really: “Woodland Walk”, “Race To The Lake”, “Caverns” and lead-off “Summit”.

Longtime homie FaltyDL - a man who, as Thris can attest, enjoys the finer things in life (i.e. eating grapes and listening to jazz) - provides a grin-worthy remix of the already ebullient track. The chintzy samples and limber percussion harken back to 2012's Hardcourage/Our House Stab release - bold colours splashed left, right n centre.

We believe that « everything is a remix »

Remixes are a major part of the electronic music history. The club culture take off on remixes, some of the greatest dance hits where made from remixing original tracks.
Our primary purpose is to highlight this exercise by offering the opportunity to artists to either work on a remix or offer a track to be remixed by an artist they admire. It is overseen and curated by independent music lovers and supported by The Absolut Company, a brand that is permanently involved in the field of contemporary arts and creation with a tradition of supporting artists such as Keith Haring and Andy Warhol at their very early stage of their career. The Absolut Remix project is dedicated to the art of combining or editing existing materials, to produce something new.

As a start, every last Thursday of the month, we will unveil a new remix, from a newcomer or a legend, from disco to techno or IDM and house music. And more to come...
