For its sixth release, PLEXUS RECORDS is very proud to introduce BARRIO, cuban-native producer, with a brand new concept album called «PLAY THIS ONLY AT NIGHT».

BARRIO's first appearance was in 2009 under his ROOQ alias, on the Mochilla CD "Beats and the abstract truth" mixed by RAS G. He produces for the french rap club «L’ADLD», also for the futurist duo «MY NINA» on Cosmonostro Records. His last appearance was few months ago on the compilation «La Boulangerie vol.3» (Nowadays Records).

«PLAY THIS ONLY AT NIGHT» is his first full-length album with features on the mic by DISTANTSTARR (Expansions Collective / Divine Atoms), SADIQUE «NV» DABALE (Bight of Benin), PL (SoulFamilia) and MAODEA (De la Boucle) on a co-produced track.

BARRIO explores the psychedelic form of beatmaking by using raw progressive rock samples coming straight from the 70's era and dirty african loops. Be sure to experience a true mystic, mind-altering trip listening to this crazy project !

This LP is a limited edition of 500 copies, hand-numbered and pressed on 180gr. Download card for digital format is included, plus a 12’‘x12’’ poster.

PLEXUS RECORDS & Somepling present "PaperSkies".
This is the first full length effort by French producer Somepling, after a bunch of projects including releases on Stillmuzik, Outlier Recordings, Cold Busted, Sickonasty, and three self-released vinyl records.

Somepling first appeared on The DJ Shadow Remix Project in 2010. His work was then featured twice on the Bandcamp weekly show, he was playlisted by DJ Vadim, TJ Kid & DJ Woody, highlighted on XLR8R, and named soundclouder of the day in 2011.

On "PaperSkies", the mood is mellow, each track carefully crafted, using the finest samples to build progressive instrumental Hip-Hop stories. Somepling's clearly influenced by Express Rising, DJ Shadow's early work, and also Spiritual/modal jazz moods; his dusty instrumentals made on the MPC 2000XL are perfect to escape, and obviously, an invitation to sit back and let the record spins.

This LP comes in a limited silk-screened edition of 275 copies, all hand-numbered and pressed on 180gr vinyl. 12"x 12" silk-screened insert/poster included. Original art is an engraving made by Jérôme Bouchard.

Plexus Records & Meyso present « M.A.J. ». This is the first full length effort by the french producer Meyso, after a bunch of projects and collaborations including productions for Lomepal, Fixpen Sill, Equipto, Sameer Ahmad and more !

Meyso first appeared on Plexus Records cassette project from 2013, then on the Kapla album on the same label with Mr Hone, Maodea and Oteest. He’s been since producing for several french and belgian rappers and started to be the DJ on tour for famous french rapper Lomepal.

On « M.A.J. », Meyso confirms his skills and delivers a very rich and dense album. Influenced at first by producers such as Dilla, Madlib and Dj Shadow, he develops now his own modern approach of beatmaking, incorporating elements of trap and electronic music. With guests such as Caballero, JeanJass, Veerus or Ndobo Emma, the album balances between deep instrumentals made of rare vinyl samples and some catchy rap and soulful tracks.
