Little Girl

Plighter, a name derived from Old English found in a work by Shakespeare, brings together Cédric Champalou and Rémy Silva, two childhood friends. They met in the corridors of the Paris metro in the late 20th century. Sharing a passion for electronic pop and new wave, they exchanged ideas without immediately forming a band, as both were already involved in other musical projects.

Cédric became a sound engineer in a major Parisian studio, while Rémy worked in the hotel industry and composed music. They remained connected through their love of music. Starting in 2019, with one living in Champagne and the other in Paris, they began a serious collaboration to realize their common musical project.

They compose music independently. Rémy sings and writes the lyrics, adding vocal melodies to Cédric's compositions. They also collaborate with English writers for the lyrics. Their music, influenced by the world of synth-pop, blends electro-pop, trip-hop, symphonic elements, and a melancholic and melodious atmosphere, creating an immersive and cinematic experience. The lyrics explore human relationships and spirituality, adding further depth to their compositions.

The mark of the 90s is evident in Plighter's music. Although the band's heritage spans the history of electro-pop, they acknowledge numerous influences from this period, which holds no secrets for them. Plighter's strength and sound result from the perfect alchemy between Cédric's electronic work and Rémy's melodic sensitivity, a fusion that gives birth to a unique sonic universe.
