With the Mettaton role, Sans has different motives rather than putting on a show. He's more focused on helping the underground and breaking the barrier. Even with the lost of Gaster and his brother, Papyrus, Sans tries to at least do his part in the job of being the Royal Scientist. However, it looks like Sans wants to let the human live by testing out some experiments he and azzy have been working on.....there has to be a catch here.
