The single is called “Conviction” it is a modern and forward sounding no nonsense neurofunk banger. For millennia, learned individuals the world over have sought to unravel the secrets of alchemy, that famed occult science that allows for the transmutation of elements from one type to another. In the beginning, its secrets were sought by scholars who ingested mercury to prolong the lives of their physical bodies even as its poison vapors drove them to madness. Then came those who sought to transform mundane lead into brilliant, shimmering gold, and they too were poisoned by the former metal’s insidious and lurking aftereffects. In the more recent past, there have been those who have succeeded in the alchemical pursuit to a certain degree, splitting certain heavy elements into their more basal forms through the power of fission, and yet even in their successes these individuals too were poisoned for their hubris, the effects evermore immediate and horrific than those faced by their predecessors. 

Indeed, despite these scientists’ efforts at alphabetical categorization of the known elements, the truth of the gods remains sealed away in the depths of space, guarded by beings unknowable and all-powerful. True transmutation is the property of one singular element carefully withheld from the grasp of mortal beings. Its genesis in the womb of the divine mother gives it this singular quality, and this property has been wielded by the gods since time immemorial to shape, craft, and hone the vast expanses of the universe. Its silvery hue is echoed in the rays of a million distant stars, the children of the divine mother who have in turn given birth to all further life. What mortals have sought for so long has been forever known as ARGENTUM, and its ineffable form shall never grace their greedy hands. 

SITRI returns to EATBRAIN with his latest single, ALPHABET//ARGENTUM, which sees him synthesize futuristic rhythmic sequences and transmute thrashing basslines to surge alongside them for his second EATBRAIN release.

An eerie darkness encapsulates the German village of Odenthal. The day shifts from what was supposed to be a beautiful, sunny memory to the most ominous moment in the history of this village. The clear sapphire sky infuses with growing blackness as though it is being corrupted by the dark side of nature itself. Tremors hit the ground, the sky starts roaring and the wind grows stronger, blowing and ripping apart everything it touches. Never before have the inhabitants of Odenthal witnessed a natural disaster as destructive as this. With every strike of lightning, the hurricane intensifies. And with every thunderous roar, so does the terror.
Among the chaos, a young man sees his house being ripped to shreds with relentless force before he even had time to think about how in the world his VW Golf 3 ended up on the roof of the house. Everything he ever worked for is now scattered all across town. In the midst of the ravaging cyclone, the young man could only think about one thing: "...i never knew my Doberman could fly!"

Before the gates of hell's fourth layer stands a massive desk of black ironwood, intricately inlaid with avaricious motifs and adorned with a sophisticated seal that once marked the completion of a long-forgotten contract between the great and powerful devils that rule this realm. Atop this desk sits a singular tome, bound in the leathered flesh of contract breakers aplenty. Indeed, between the boundless pages of this terrible tome are listed the names of all those whose actions have or shall destin them to arrive here, recorded forever in an evergrowing CHRONICLE of mortal greed.

Behind this desk sits always the skeletal visage of one of the realm’s septuple gatekeepers, here bedecked in a three-piece suit that would be well fitting were it not for the being’s lack of soft tissue. Before him come the damned, oft sure that their swindling ways might grant them one final respite from condemnation to flame. Commonly, they plead their case before the gatekeeper, and in response, it is assured that from within the depths of his great ironwood desk he shall pull forth the precedents of divine law that will shackle them to their doom. As the poor souls at the gate are ferried away to their torments upon the wings of lesser devils, the gatekeeper reclines in his chair with contentment. Reaching once more within his desk, he withdraws a much smaller tome, detailing the victories of his latest case closed. Each and every one of its entries begins with the very same line -

“Dear diary, today was a damn good day.”
