‘Talk of Town’, out April 22nd on Gravitas Recordings is the third and last single before their debut EP ‘Listen Clearly’. Talk of Town exhibits the high spirit Hello Yes brings to the table, and explores the dynamic of relationships, complicated emotions that are brought to the surface, and the frustrations love presents. 

Colorful guitar strokes begin the track off with a high energy groove, creating a striking introduction to what “Talk of Town” is all about. Whimsical bass lines paired with the duo’s vocals intentionally transport the listener into a psychedelic realm, while synths slowly begin to build up creating a nostalgic yet euphoric vibe leaving you almost as if you were on a moon cloud. The duo isn’t afraid of being vulnerable in their lyrics, expressing themes of frustration, love, and reflection. Although these themes are often quite heavy, the duo showcases their refreshing and sound to connect with the listener, creating a feeling of ease and authenticity with the energy they exemplify.

"D.C.-based DJ Eau Claire took the internet by storm earlier this fall with her remix of Stevie Wonder's 1966 hit, "Uptight," which has garnered the upstart over 100,000 listens on SoundCloud.  In her latest endeavor, she reaches back to the more recent past, putting a nu-disco spin on Mike Posner's 2010 smash, "Cooler Than Me."  The result is a welcome facelift that utilizes infectious piano riffs and elements of deep house music to transform Posner's song into a modern banger.

Shimmering synths and a deep beat lead the track before Mike Posner's torqued vocal samples come in, sounding at once squeaky and chipmunk-esque, and deep and demonic.  As in Eau Clare's mix of "Uptight," a huge, addictive piano hook takes the track over, bringing listeners to bliss.  As Posner's vocals become more fully formed (and eerie), deep laser-like synths drop in on top of the beat giving it the feel of a modern deep house hit.  We wouldn't expect anything less from a producer who cites SNBRN and Blonde's masterful remix of "Rhythm of the Night" by Corona as inspiration for her most recent work.

Last year when I did the "One In A Million" Tour the idea was to play all my new album material to the fans before it even came out, as an exclusive treat but also as part of the process of refining the music. When I finished and released the album late last year we were already making plans for the next tour! So the past few months I've been writing and making so much new music, and one of the most natural and independent processes for me is to go back to where it started and just mess around with old school hip hop like I did back in the day! There's something about the energy and flow of those old school rappers that always has and always will bring me such inspiration.
