The deadmau5 masterclass has influenced our sound development ever since it first came out. In fact, it was the very first masterclass course we purchased. The most important thing we learned from Joel was to be yourself as much as possible. He taught us to never stop experimenting with our music. Thus, for this track, we went into the studio with an open mind and started experimenting with sound design and sample-digging (purchased packs of course). We wanted to compliment the progressive electro sound of mau5trap, but also do our best to create something truly original. So with that in mind, we kept the mau5trap texture, but applied a funky beat inspired by house and breaks, but somewhere in between. We're very stoked to present our original track with a great message: "Love Who You Are (Radio Mix)"

You are walking into the best festival in the world, and right as you walk down into the stadium, you hop on board the coolest art car at the venue: Parliament. There is a DJ duo wielding the sound system, but knowing better to start it off with too much energy, they keep it all style. The huge Owl guardian directs the nested spaceship towards the Upside Down House as the kick drums thump the Funktion One’s around you.

You’ve already made some new friends as you dance to a couple G-House flavored unreleased originals. The party is poppin’ off when these lyrics echo throughout your mind:

“Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time. Dancing in the desert, blowin’ up the sunshine.”

Did anyone else hear that? What’s that noise? Sounds like a telephone.

The sun has gone down, and your phone rings, but you don’t answer because you’re too busy dancing the night away, sipping on some champagne and keeping it classy.

Then just when you think you caught the vibe, the energy turns up a bit more in the summer night with the stylings of our contest submission track, Just A Kick Drum. The future house pianos give way to dirty bass house wubs, and just a touch of jungle terror to keep the pulse pumping on our collab track with Rooze.

“Hit me with those lazer beams!” 

The crowd screams for joy as the four RGB lasers turn on at full power.

Two more unreleased original tracks, including a collab with Bonefish, keep the mix going while the art car traverses from Cosmic Meadow and down Electric Avenue.

Finally after breaking the beat into the half-step drop of Stranger & Bot’s Lo Dat, the art car has arrived at its destination: Circuit Grounds.

You’ve since learned that the DJs are Plurthlings, and they end the mix by taking you into progressive bass heaven with a solid VIP edit of Sander van Doorn’s Oh, Amazing Bass and Eric Prydz’s Generate.

🎬 Is there a movie always playing in your mind too?

Imagine going to the best movie theater in your city to watch a movie about your dream life. That's what the planet of PLURTH is all about ... a place "Where the RAVE Never Ends".

We wrote this song because we're EPIC movie fans that have always dreamed of uniting all the best dance music producers around a major motion picture production. We want to tell the story of ravers but mixed in with all the mystery, grandeur, and weirdness of human history, past, present, and future. 

Maybe this project could start with us, @sanholobeats, and @cymaticsfm working together?

Now that would be a cool sample pack right?

"Popcorn" is our entry to the Cymatics.FM and San Holo "LIGHT" contest. We started with some very simple, but melodic piano and guitar loops that really stuck out to us with some subtle magic. You can tell that San probably wrote these riffs himself with that special vibrant blessing % up very high. 

After watching all the workshops that came with the pack, we decided we definitely needed some of that special human element of imperfection. Kahu loosened up the groove with off-grid drum patterns in the right spots for the vibe and he made a slamming beat around those original San loops. 

Then while the song was playing over and over in the studio, Monsoon wrote a couple of simple lyrics about movies playing in his mind and didn't hesitate to record his vocals. Layering doubles, plus a lot of mind-bending vocal FX really took this track to a unique level of fun.

We're very excited to share this new track with you! It will be out on all platforms (Spotify, Apple, Beatport, Tidal, etc) on Friday, September 20th.

That was the entire premise of producing this bass house track on the same day that Denver, Colorado was the first US state to decriminalize the potent, but natural psychedelic entheogen.

The cheeky vocals and bouncing mushroom bassline take the housey piano riffs and trip them out to another dimension.

Are the colors changing way too fast?

This song was pretty much written and produced all on snapchat inspired by our homie @watermelon_trailz.

We met him in line for EDC Las Vegas 2017, and he told us how much he loved our clothes (we make artwork for each song that we print on all-over rave apparel). We connected on snapchat, and he had some lyric ideas that we expanded on further.

We got in the studio, recorded the vocals (Monsoon singing & Kahu rapping) and made the beat going for that midtempo future bass summer feels. Although it's being released in North American fall in November 2019, it's because it's his birthday this weekend!

Do you howl underneath the moon?

"Queen of the Night" crosses over from dance music to pop with such ease that you might think it was blessed by the full moon itself. This might have some truth to it considering it was first produced on a full moon and finished by the next one. Not to mention the final mastering was completed on 11/11 going into that next moon cycle.

This track has amazing vocals and lyrics that pull you into this mystical realm of angels and demons. Plurthlings also added some organic but melodic wolf howls into the drops to give it an extra emotional feel. The instrumental is topped-off with incredible piano, saxophone, and violins sampled to hit you right in your heart center. "Queen of the Night" will take you on a crazy journey into the light within the darkness.

That phrase echoes through this song like a haunted requiem, but the heavy bass drops redefine that solitude. "Alone in the Dark" is easily one of Plurthlings most raucous tunes yet. As the vocals build into a rave crescendo, a relentless riddim beat takes over and you have no choice but to start headbanging into the groove. No doubt that this track will be a bass festival favorite for many years.

The best part of this track is that you might start out all alone in the dark, but by the end of the song, you'll be dancing at raves with your new-found friends. We all start out alone, but we don't have to stay that way.

This rockin' bluesy-influenced riddim dubstep track will have you headbanging all the way to festival season. After all, a music festival is kind of like a "Faded City". Put this song on repeat for the road trip and let the vocal phrase inspire you so nothing can stop you, not even yourself. Just make sure to stretch your neck before you break it!

The piano and guitar samples make this track stand out amongst all the bass-heavy tracks to choose from. Those crunchy riffs and smooth chord structures give it that melodic and harmonic musical content that most dubstep tracks lack. This is what riddim sounds like with a little bit of that Colorado soul. It's no wonder that Plurthlings made this track at their studio in Denver, Colorado - the ultimate "Faded City".
