Summer is still going strong, and to keep the warm vibes going we proudly present PLUS015 featuring RSTRCTD. This duo from Amsterdam are bringing House back in a timeless way that few can replicate. On the remix front we have, take a deep breath now, Nü: The Outer Space Disco Dancing Society of Chicago crew in full effect. And yeah, that's a real thing apparently. Pretty cool, no?

To get this party started we have the timeless "Roots". Featuring smooth male vocals, fluffy chords and a classic baseline reminiscent of many a Chicago House records. The track starts of simply enough, just a raw groove that hooks you in off the bat. From there it builds subtly and before you know it the strings come and the wall of sound engulfs you and you're lost in the moment dancing away under the glittery disco ball on the dancefloor. 

Following up "Roots" we have the oh so catchy "Someone". Starting with a simple "boots and cats" loop (seriously, just repeat it a couple of times, you'll get it), the subtle strings peek through and with out warning the hook drops in, and from there it's game on. The smooth vox is back whispering how "it feels right" and asking "why don't you join tonight". From there it is full on dancefloor mayhem, with the hook just being relentless in it's pursuit to move you while the groove just keeps the bounce going. Party Jams at their best!

Starting off the remix round we have the head of the Nü crew. Bringing his impeccable taste in music combined with refined studio prowess, the man know as John Mörk delivers a smooth and relaxing experience that is still powerful and moving. His interpretation of "Roots" starts of rather relaxing with airy guitar chords and dubbed out vocals taken right off the original. Off the bat the lean beat keeps you intrigued and before you know it the groovy bassline has already made it's presence known. Just a little number that plays along nicely with the drum groove. But then you realize the baseline is only half the lead itself with a xylophone-esque lead layered over the top. From there it just keeps grooving forward with the vocals just looping and locking you in a hypnotic trance. The whole track continues on, teasing you to it potential, but never letting itself go over the line. 

Following up Mr. Mörk's excellent remix we have the duo known simply as EchoDroides. A relatively unknown outfit, ++ was excited to have the opportunity to work with these fine lads after hearing some their work and we couldn't have asked for more from their remix of "Someone". With a sound inspired by any and all vintage synthesizers and drum machines from the 80's, their remix captures the era perfectly. With a raw, bouncy bassline that builds tension in itself, and a vox that's tastefully drenched in spacey FX, the setup is there for a track to deliver an epic moment in time on the dancefloor. The soaring pads create space while analog tom fills transition us though the track, the tension is only building as the arpeggio line glides it's way into the party. There is a moments reprise as the bell like lead rings out, but it's only a moment none the less and we're back into the raw groove that carries itself before the soaring pads come back with a vengeance. As the tension builds there's a lull as the arpeggio and bell lead compete with each other to create this juxtaposition of textures that leave a sense of relief while never truly letting the tension fall away. And here the track reaches it's crescendo with the pads back in full while the arpeggio line pushes the track as a whole. Needless to say, this will be leaving many a people on the dancefloor moved to feel and love one another in a moment that won't soon be forgotten.

And here we are, round off the release in the way that only she can. Alinka brings her tough and edgy approach to "Roots". Nothing fancy here, just brining that late night warehouse sound that we all love. The track kicks off with the late night bassline you expect, just bouncy, loopy and in your face. From there she just works the drums like a veteran, bringing parts in and out to keep the listener on edge and the feet moving. This is for the true party peeps who don't want the party to stop, and with tracks like this we don't want the night to end as well.

RSTRCTD - Someone (Echodroide's Vintage Makeover) (SC Preview)

Hey gang! The old Plus Plus crew is back with Samuel Wallner popping his cherry and making his EP debut! Samuel’s “East Wilson” EP is fantastic sonic expression of Plus Plus musical philosophy with it’s collection of chunky drums, heavy basslines and subtle keys and pads that are eloquent as they are introspective. From the hypnotic keys in the EP’s namesake in “East Wilson”, to the soaring pads in “Atwood” and the thick, lofi inspired drums in Downtown Dub, we couldn’t be more excited to have Samuel as part of the Plus Plus fam and are looking forward to his future studio productions.

On the EP round we also have the enigmatic Kári with this somber interpretation of “East Wilson”, to the dance floor reimagining of “Atwood” by label staple Garden Party and finishing off with Josh Winiberg making his long awaited return with his cinematic remix of “Downtown Dub”. PLUS062 is as fresh sounding an EP as it is dynamic.

Samuel Wallner - Downtown Dub

Plus Plus is here to keep the vibes going all summer long! After digging through out back catalog to produce some remixes for his previous release, Ared is back with with an outstanding EP that delivers sun soaked vibes for lazy afternoons. From the emotional and uplifting strings and keys on “Real Hope”, to the tight drum driven grooves and forward bassline on “Intro”, Ared’s once again shows off his distinct approach to melodies and harmonies while keeping the grooves grounded.

New comer Drymouth takes a focused approach on “Real Hope”, creating an electro influenced throw back vibe with it’s broken drums and sequenced synth lines that harken back to days gone by. The arrangement is a no frills affair that delivers the goods and doesn’t hold back.

LoveAmplified makes his much anticipated return to Plus Plus with his remix of “Real Hope” Stripping it down to to a few fundamental bits from the original, LoveAmplified builds it back up into deep and chugging house vibes. And as luck would have it, LoveAmplified was kind enough to include an instrumental as well for those late night vibes.

Wrapping up the EP we have Odøn tearing down “Intro” and creating a downtempo remix with shades of trip hop. Odøn’s slinky drums and hazy vibes are on full display. While the drums may be loose and lively, Odøn’s attention to detail is anything but. With a thoughtful arrangement and every synth complimenting it’s counter point, Odøn creates a remix where the whole is greater than the sums of it’s parts.

Ared - Real Hope (LoveAmplified Remix)

Summer is close to wrapping up, but plus Plus isn’t slowing down! Rising star Francisco Aguado is back with an absolute sublime trio of of his signature interpretation of all things deep and dubby. With the blissed out vibes of “Clouds”, to the slinky low swung grooves of “Clear” and the frenetic drum work of “Summer”, Francisco once again shows off why he is quickly becoming a go to artist and remixer for labels across the globe.
Opening up the remixes we have Daniel Allen coming all the way from Texas. With a machine driven melodic sequence that bends and weaves, Daniel Allen takes “Clouds” and turns it into stripped down analog machine driven tour de force. Nephew provides a touch of soul and funk on “Clear”, taking the original keys and adding a soulful guitar to compliment the thick drums. The international man of mystery known as Garden Party provides his signature rough and rude grooves to the arpeggio synth  from “Summer Storm”, creating a driving dance floor beast that doesn’t relent until the last kick.

Dakin Auret is here to kick off 2022 with a trio of originals in is signature style that harkens back to 80’s electro and a light hearted approach to writing. We have the Italian Stallion Queemose with his fresh take on house, and label stalwarts Garden Party and Kári bringing their tailored flavors to the EP.

Dakin opens with Time Out, a thick and heavy beat is accompanied with a rubbery bassline that doesn’t let up. Wish vocals swirl around to add a touch of Femme Fatale to dance floor destroyer. 

Contrary to its title, Sunshiner takes a bit more of an introspective turn with a darker bassline and a haunting synth line. The vocals ring out, providing a touch of atmosphere and space over the claustrophobic inducing crunch of the drums.

Way Back is vintage Dakin Auret, with a crisp machine driven groove and spacious bassline that plays off of the pads. With a pacing thats a bit more subdued, Way Out sets the pace for those opening sets that builds anticipation for the evening ahead.

The Italian Stallion is back with his inspiring approach Sunshiner. Taking the haunting synths from the original and looping the vocals from the original, he adds a fun and sunny synth line thats reminiscent of vintage house organs of years past. His analog drum groove keeps building whole the original lead is layered time and again to create a euphoric moment that will leave the dance floor smiling.

The Icelandic enigma is back with their focused approach on dub and ambients for their remix on Sunshiner. Doing a complete 180 turn when compared to Queemose, Kári takes the vocals and twists them into an instrument themselves. With a heavy percussion groove and a gnarly guitar feedback that’s fighting to break loose, Kári’s remix just oozes tension and restraint. 

The mythical beast that is Garden Party brings up the year, but still delivers a dance floor heater in the process! Taking a note from their earlier rocker days, GP’s remix of Way Back is filled to the brim with saturated guitar lines and distorted synths turned all the way up to 11. Taking the gentle synths from the original creates and juxtaposition that compliments each other from start to finish. 

With Dakin leading the way, 2022 is off to a great start for Plus Plus and friends!

PLUS066 welcomes label newcomer Roam Freely to the Plus Plus with a trio of absolutely fantastic originals. With a deep understanding of the ethereal and while being an empathetic soul, Roam Freely is able to tease out so much sympathetic emotions from his studio you’d think his synths and drum machines were alive and full of a life their own. On remix duties we have long time fan favorite Chlorophyll along with PatriceVanDenBerg and Pheek, the engineering guru behind all our masters. 

“We Are Here” represent the first steps hesitant on a journey to awakening. A muted, rubbery synth line guides you as windy pad weaves in and out until a deep fuzzy bassline grabs your hand and gives confidence that you are heading in the right direction. A broken drum groove punctuates the arrangement with shakers proving a guiding light on your path. The momentum builds subtly as the crossroads appears over the horizon. The track strips back down to it’s essentials as you approach the crossroads, coming to a gentle conclusion as you debate your next route.

With the initial steps of the journey long behind us, our confidence in the path we’ve chosen starts to build. “Tournesol” starts strong with a tight kick and a bouncey, analog bassline to encourage us up the hill as our journey has recently turned a corner, proving to be a bit more dynamic than anticipated. Gentle synth notes dot the arrangement, adding a sense of intrigue while the thin organ adds a touch of contrast to the thick groove. The kick drops as we hit the summit, giving us a moment to taken in the view before and acknowledge	the distance we have come. The downward journey proves to be a bit more relaxing as the organ starts to fade, much like the sun setting beyond the peak we climbed. 

We’ve finally made it to the bottom of the hill and see the clearing in front of us. “When You Get Here (Griot Dub)” starts with a dubby synth melody that dances across the field, with full moon shining overhead. A stuttering bassline pushed us through the darkness, a filtered kick being our only guide. An airy pad washes over us much like the cool night breeze, a shiver running down our spine as the kick filters back out and we hesitantly continue onward. As we approach the end of the clearing, twinkling synths fade in over top as we see the beach in font of us, the eerie blackness with the lone reflection of the moon being the only indicator of the ocean in front of us. We sit on the sand as the ocean calms and the twinkling synths fade, our heart beat matching the stuttering bassline as the kick fades and our journey has come to it’s conclusion.

Chlorophyll is up first for the remix round, taking the ethereal synths “We Are Here” and pushing it to a vintage tech house monster. Dubby horns open the track as an acid inspired synth line follows the progression. A tight and vibrant drum beat takes hike, driving the track as the rubbery line from the original haunts the arrangement from the background. 

Pheek’s approach on “Tournesol” shows off his attention to detail, with meticulously sculpted percussions and tailored every tails. A slinky, low swung bassline sits just below the kick, while a filtered sequenced line grabs your ear and doesn’t let up. Swelling strings build up a sense of tension that compliments the stripped down groove as it’s moves through to it’s conclusion.

PatriceVanDenBergs interpretation of “When You Get Here (Griot Dub)” is vintage PVDB. Dubby chords and a drum groove with a subtle funk are front and center. Taking little bits and pieces of the original, Patrice uses them to accent the arrangement, ading a sense of the familiar while still being true to his vision as an artist and producer.

++ is back! After taking a little holiday break and getting ready for the new year, we are ready to hit it hard! And we couldn’t be any more excited about who we have lined up to kick off the new year. All the way from Amsterdam and the brainchild behind the Sekoia brand we have the talented Florinsz Janvier. His work with Sekoia has given him valuable insight into what it means to make emotionally moving music with a subtle, gentle touch; and that experience shines through across this whole EP.

To get the new year started we have the joyous and euphoric “Saganaga”. With a bouncy kick line and a thick bassline, “Saganaga” is primed to keep any and all dance floors full and moving. The smooth arpeggio line and euphoric strings seem to chase away the darkness while it’s tight, bouncy drum groove keeps the nocturnal energy driving and pushing.

Almost as a counter point to the opening track, “Zeb” brings a sense of melancholy. Based around a strong organ line and smooth organic groove, “Zeb” perfectly captures the seasonal mood with the short sunny days to go along with those long, chilling winter nights. But there is a silver lining, the chimes provide a nice back drop to the melancholic atmosphere, providing a sense of hope and serenity. 

On remix duties we have a few new faces along with a ++ veteran. Opening up the remix round we have the talented Some Chemistry and his “Self Delusional Remix” of “Saganaga”. Where as the original brought sense of joy and euphoria, Some Chemistry reigns it in a bit. With a true understanding of tension and restrain, Some Chemistry creates a memorable journey with warm keys and sparse bassline that accents the track. Teasing in the arpeggio line from the original along with the keys, the atmosphere and tension are palatable-just begging to be released. The release comes, subtly mind you, but enough to push you over the edge and look up to the heavens as a feeling of pure ecstasy washes over you.

Long time friend and contributor Josh Winiberg is back once again, this time providing his studio touch to the title track in his signature style. Stripping down “Saganaga” to it’s bare essentials, Josh’s “English Channel Connection” remix builds it back up in his image with a strong focus and attention to detail on the raw, organic drum groove that is accompanied by a magical off kilter bassline. Using the arpeggio from the original as a bed and adding soaring strings, Josh has created that go to track to “lift” the crowd subtly until they are locked in.

Daniel Zuur, another new comer to the ++ family, lends his talents to “Saganaga”. Daniel’s “Form Over Function” sums it up pretty well, building up subtly with a strong, thick bassline progression and smooth strings to punctuate the driving nature of the remix. A no frills affair that squarely hits the mark, this remix should find it’s way into a number of record boxes.

Rounding up our remix round we have man simply known as Llieno. Hailing from New York, Llieno has adopted the qualities of the city's rich house history while applying a modern touch to truly make a unique sound that is all his own. His “Big Apple” remix is an exercise in a less-is-more philosophy with “Zeb”. Taking the main organ line, Llieno beefs it up in that typical New York fashion, with tight and thick drum grooves to accompany a simple piano riff that floats over the groove. With a tough yet hypnotic take on the melancholy “Zeb”, Llieno rounds up this EP perfectly.

Plus Plus Spring Sampler 2014 (Mixed by Jason Bay) - Release Date March 28th, 2014

Plus Plus is back at it with a new release to kick off the new year! Petros Odin has graced us with the “Searching Eyes EP”, a more subdued and gentler side of the house music spectrum and we couldn’t be more proud to have him be part of the Plus Plus family. 

The EP opens up with a smooth, straight forward groove that doesn’t let up. “Crazy Eyes” features a warm, bouncy bassline off the bat that’s supported by sultry chords and a dubbed out brass section. Smooth track start to finish and one that’s perfectly tuned to warm up the dance floor.

The EP’s title track is up next, opening with atmospherics and a drone synth line before the beat makes it’s entrance. With a raw, upfront groove and deep bassline, “Searching Eyes” lulls you in with it’s hypnotic synths and a vocal line that oozes sex appeal. A perfectly tuned track for those late night warehouse parties that keeps the vibe thick and heavy without having to beat the crowd over the head.

The remix round kicks off with not one, but two tracks by the man known as Nathan Wool.  Both remixes focus on doing more with less while still presenting full on tracks that can lock a dance floor in to the groove. Nathan executes this to perfection on his “Deep” mix. He takes “Crazy Eyes” and strips it down to just the bare essentials and builds on the vocals and creates a space that moves and evolves start to finish. 

Nathan’s Piano mix focuses on creating an atmosphere off of nothing more than a stripped down groove and piano. Following in the same footsteps of his Deep mix of “Crazy Eyes”, he works the groove and keeps building on the introspective piano line until the breakdown crescendos back into the beat before closing out with spaced out keys.

Closing out the EP is the Low Tide duo who have had a slew releases to finish 2014 and don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. Their approach on “Searching Eyes” is Low Tide at their finest. A deep and chunky groove sets the mood with it’s dark, nocturnal energy and dubbed out vocals. The lush synths pair well with the raw energy, creating a space that pulls you in while keep the vibe think and bouncy. We are excited to have all these guys onboard as part of the Plus Plus family and couldn’t be more excited with how this EP turned out. Cheers!

02. St Xose - Green Glitz (SC Preview)

Plus Plus is back with new originals from Nathan Wool and a solid lineup of remixers added for your listening pleasure! First featured as a remixer on Plus Plus’ successful Petros Odin release, Nathan Wool gives us three emotionally raw original tracks that will captivate dance floors from midnight to sunrise.

Dont Know if I Said begins with a high energy drone that is accented by intricate snares and toms that push the track throughout. His vocal work, minimal and effective, is accompanied by dark airy synths and low synth stabs that drive until the track climaxes with the pairing of the same high energy drone and variations of his vocals.

Denis Yashin’s dreamy take on Don’t Know if I Said ramps up as shakers and dubbed out vocal effects climax with the tracks edgy synth stabs. An eerie synth overtone pushes the track forward before cutting to vocals and drums before ramping up once more with the drone and cooling down from there.

Llieno strips down Don’t Know if I Said and reimagines the synth and bassline with new edgy replacements. This techy recreation uses the vocals as accents and breaks before introducing them fully as the drones, drums, and bass all come together. Each element gets the spotlight as the track progresses before

Crossing Soul showcases catchy upbeat drums and an ethereal melodic synth line accented by unique vocal hits. The drums fade and the synth line takes control until the vocals materialize and the drums return in a pulsing groove. The track cools down with variations on the synth line while the drums slowly fade.

Petros Odin’s remix of Crossing Soul conveys dreamy undertones complemented by massive disco-esque drums and bassline. The snares and toms roll while building the airy synthline. The track breaks down leaving the synth work to shine all before the heavy drums and bass kick right back in.

Spirit begins with a four-on-the-floor snare and kick slowly ramping up with crashes and cymbals accented by a smooth synth bassline. Nebulous synth lines and deep vocals grab the attention as the chunky drum groove propels the song forward, all the while keeping heads bobbing and feet moving throughout.

Jason Bay’s Spirit remix begins with a newly crafted guitar line accented by the dubbed out vocals of the original. The entrancing vocal and guitar combination are joined by the drums and ethereal synths. Subtle piano lines complement the groove as the track progresses with complex variations and breaks all before being stripped back down to the guitar and drums.

Unfug t re-imagines Spirit in his signature, hypnotic style that only he can do. Smooth guitar chords make their way into the mix with subtle dub effects to give it a spaced out vibe. Along with the throbbing bassline and haunting vocal effects, Unfug’s remix is as psychedelic as they come.

Making his appearance once again, James Highs take on Spirit is James at his best. Calling back to the days of vintage 80’s synths and drum machines, James crafts a synthed out funk jam with soaring pads and bouncing toms with a warm, fuzzy bassline pushing the track and the dance floor.

The prodigal son has returned! Dakin Auret is back once again, this time with a three track EP for Plus Plus. This time he brought along a few of his fellow country men to contribute on the remix end along with label mainstay llieno and Mike Terra.

Opening the EP we have the Wanna be. Dark and moody, it’s Dakin at his finest. A thick, heavy kick sets the foundation, with a deep moog-esque bassline punctuating the space between. The vocal is warm yet haunting all at once, creating this unique juxtaposition tha pulls you to the dance floor while keeping ear’s open, ever anticipating where the track is going to take you next.

Next up we have It’s Mine, a bit more light hearted with a nice skip and bounce to the beat. A thick, rhythmic bass pushes the track ever forward. Subtle  in it’s execution, but devastating in the hands of someone who knows how to work the dance floor. 

Dakin’s final contribution to the EP is a subtle dance floor killer. Going back to his dark disco roots on this one, the bassline front and center with unnerving stabs making their presence known with out warning. The vocals create a space and depth in the mix, while never really staying anything. Definitely one for those late night dark rooms!

Opening the remix round we have label staple llieno contributing his reinterpretation of Wanna Be. Going with a more garage inspired take, the pads are straight forward and powerful, while the bassline bounces along, giving it a playful feel that’s in contrast to slightly detuned keys and swelling synth line.

Dakins mates are up next, contributing a trio of bass heavy, dance floor focused tech house monsters. Rob Sloan’s remix is all about the punishing kick and the dubbed out synths that circle around the mix. It never lets up from the moment it has you locked in, only pushing further ahead until the very end.

Kyle Maclean’s remix is a bit more subtle than Rob Sloan’s, but still packs a punch. The kick is more punchier and tighter, while the bassline just hums underneath the track, creating space for the vocals to sit on top and be the star. 

Kanan K7 takes Wanna Be and gives it a full on synthed out makeover. Reminiscent of Steyoyoke’s sound, the groove is very 4 to the floor oriented, allowing the bassline to hum while providing the synths with space to breath and strut their stuff. 

Wrapping up the EP we have Mike Terra all the way from New York. His remix of It’s Mine is the very definition of a drum machine work out. Toms galore from the with get go, the kick just keeps pounding and pushing with the strings soaring on top, giving it a majestic quality while the drums pound away and cause havoc underneath.

06. Dakin Auret - Wanna Be (Kyle Maclean Remix) [SC Preview]

It’s that time of year again, our latest compilation is finally put together, the art work is immaculate and it’s ready for your listening pleasure. We had long time label contributor and friend Petros Odin source the tracks for this one and the results more than speak for themselves. With a grip of new artists showcasing their talents, Plus Plus is excited to show off our Summer 2017 Compilation.

Opening up we have Kiano & Below Bangkok with “He’ll Never Forget”. An emotional track on the more subtle side with a vocal snippet reminding us that “kids will never forget”. Gentle keys work their way into the background while a subdued synth line hums over top. A perfect segue from “He’ll Never Forget” is Juni Staub’s “Downtown Lullabies”. Juni’s track is dubbed out ear candy in is signature style with A thick bassline and spacious drums filling out the track to perfect effect. Following Juni Staub we have the man of the house himself Petros Odin with his track “The Ark” featuring Anthony Lazos. “The Ark” slithers and grinds it’s way start to finish, with a Moog-esque bassline and heavy, slow down drums to accentuate the bass. Garden Party’s “Bonus Bump” is a stark contrast to “The Ark” with a much brighter sound palette and cheeky vocal samples that bring the summer vibe to the forefront. Urban Flex & No Rabbitz thicken the groove and strip it down a bit more with “Aman Aman”, a hypnotic house track with a shaman chanting in the background while a drone run’s underneath to draw you in.

George V’s “Life Is” is a throwback look to that classic Greek house sound that put them on the map. Stripped down drums that gallop with whimsical synths over top while the bassline pushes the track. Mattik’s “7:00am” is a modern take on minimal house with a phat, heavy kick and shuffling shakers overtop while a rhythmic synth chord plays throughout out the track. Vynal K keeps the vibe going, but goes for a much more organic approach with plenty of hand percs creating a driving groove on “Jinkowawa”, while large, lush pads work their over top to keep the track chugging. Jason Bay’s “Wayfarer” is thick on vibe and hardly lacking in the groove department. With some late night vocal samples and brassy synths, “Wayfarer” is one to keep on the back burner those warehouse parties. Hunter Sanchez’s “Mindset” is a tech house monster with a heavy, galloping bassline and drug fueled vocals used to maximum effect.

Ms. Lefki continues the minimal approach but with a lighter touch with “Sophietown” that creates a bit more bounce with a rounder kick drum and synths looping over top that play off of each other throughout the track. Jason Bay's  “Land of the Free” has an almost psychedelic rock feel with the main drums being inspired by a traditional acoustic set while synths swirl over head and an electric guitar loops underneath. Siopis builds on “Land of the Free” with a rock inspired kick drum while sequenced synth line plays over top. “Borderline” creates a sense of tension and unease on the dance floor while driving the crowd to it’s limit. While still maintaing a dark vibe and heavy beat, Discoah’s “Kthulhu with a Kay” balances it gentle synth swells and a whispering female vocal. Wrapping up the mix on a high note we have Marcus Sur’s “Theme Park”. A running synth line builds it’s way into the groove while a sub bass creates a mesmerizing foundation for the drums to play with. Soft, gentle synths come and go, punctuating when vocal snippets as they introduce themselves. The drums end as the synths start to fade themselves out, concluding the track as well as the compilation itself proper.

Plus Plus is back with our final release of the year, with Juni Staub back at the helm. Juni’s “Shogun Dawn” EP is a collection of dubbed out grooves with a grip of remixes to balance out the release. From the more house sensible remixes from James Reid and Jason Bay to some more dance floor focused vibes provided by label new comer Mike Brankis and fan fav Raul Garcia teaming up with Nicolas Recalde.

Juni Staub’s Downtown Lullabies opens the EP and was featured earlier this year on our summer compilation. Smooth chords create a relaxed environment with spacious and crisp drums nestling in the background. A subby bass sits underneath to fill the space and give it some body while adding a little skip to groove.

Krafting is up next, with a heavy kick leading the track and some sharp, staccato perks driving the track forward. Loopy chords come in, swinging back and forth from side to side, filling the top space while a throbbing bassline creates the tension of the track. The tension keeps building with shakers pushing the energy forward but Krafting never gives into the expected release, just leaves you wanting more and more from the tracks to follow.

The EP’s namesake, Shogun Dawn opens with buttery pads that sit above the crisp drums that is quickly becoming Juni’s signature sound. A rolling bassline comes in, creating a solid foundation and bed that rumbles your chest but never knocks you over. Very reminiscent of that original West Coast house sound with the techy drums complimenting that warm chords and baselines.

Think Twice opens up with a broken kick and a thick bassline that us layered underneath to add some boom and girth. The drums keep building with percussion inspired by minimal techno ala short, sharp percs and a tight snare. The rhythmic synths counter balance the drums, to create a track that pushes and pulls you from start to finish.

Label head Jason Bay opens up the remix round with his interpretation of Downtown Lullabies. Holding onto the vocals and woodblocks from the original, Jason builds the remix off the back of the punchy bassline and the driving chords. Jason plays with the filter cutoff on the pad to build excitement during the breaks and beyond. 

Raul Garcia & Nicolas Recalde team tag on Krafting. Raul & Nicolas go for a less is more approach on this one, with a heavy driving kick pushing the track and subtle throbbing bass underneath to add a bit of funk to the low end groove. And LFO controlled synth comes in half way to add a touch of late night nocturnal energy to the track, only to vanish as soon as it arrived leaving the track to its own machinations.

Label new comer Mike Brankis shows off his stripped down, analog inspired signature sound with his remix of Shogun Dawn. A barebones drum groove opens with a tight kick and a low, mechanical off beat percussion march the track forward while sharp, punchy chords accent the groove. Long, filtered strings build half way through, the filter opening up while the strings get more cinematic and emotive before the drums and bass come back to finish off the track.

James Reid finished off the EP with his remix of Think Twice. James signature sound shines through once more on this one, with a laid back drum groove staining front and center. Chords from the original move punctuate the arrangement while sustained string hang underneath to build tension. The bassline adds a touch of subtle funk to the remix, lazily playing off the kick to accentuate the laid back groove of the drums.

01. Juni Staub - Downtown Lullabies [SC Preview]

Spring is in the air, and Plus Plus is back! Hunter Sanchez returns with their first proper EP on Plus Plus. Known for their thick, stripped down and driving productions, Hunter Sanchez has taken a much different approach while showcasing their range and depth as producers on their Fixed Gear EP.

Elektronica opens the EP, with a tight punchy kick and an analog inspired bass that gently lulls you in. As the track progresses the bassline develops along with panning synth motifs and swirling FX that create a sense of tension and depth. Elektronica shows Hunter Sanchez’s attention to detail while still maintaning a groove that never lets up. 

Fixed Gear follows, with it’s throbbing, off beat bassline setting the tone off the bat. A sequenced synth line works its way into the track that carries through, moving and evolving to add a touch of movement and drama to an understated drum groove that delivers maximum dance floor euphoria.

Drawing back to their first love of techno, Performer opens up with a tight kick along with a deep, rolling sub bassline. Their signature synth work is on full display with multiple layers building on each other while still complimenting the crunching, driving groove. A 303 inspired synth line starts to open up more and more as the track pushes forward but maintains a touch of grace and dignity by never opening up completely.

Label head Jason Bay is back on remix duty, taking a more dubby approach with Fixed Gear. A low swung groove opens the track, with spaced out percussions providing depth. Subtle pads fill out the mid range and evolves with the track. The original sequenced synth line bobs and weaves it’s way through, adding a hint of excitement and anticipation. The vocals hint at the moment everything changes in your life while the original synth line builds underneath before the groove kicks back thick and heavy. Jason was kind enough to provide with an instrumental as well for those of you out there who prefer smooth, rolling grooves.

Garden Party is back once again. providing a nice balance to Jason Bay’s dubbed out remix. Garden Party’s “Out On Safari” remix is thick and punishing. With a heavy kick that knocks you out and thick, overly saturated toms underneath, their take on Performer is an unapologetic assault on the dance floor. A thick bassline opens up during the break while the original 303 line comes in to build tension. As the groove backs back thick, the filter opens on the strings to create an overwhelming wall of sound that washes over and engulfs you in it’s sonic grip.

To finish off the EP Jason Bay has provided us with a little groove tool. Taking the parts from his remix and stripping them down to their bare essentials, this groove tool is perfect for opening sets while still maintaining a nice flow that grows underneath while dubbed out synths swirl unbounded.

01. Hunter Sanchez - Elektronica [SC Preview]

Plus Plus Spring Compilation has finally arrived! This time mixed and compiled by Discoah, who decided to bring a few friends along for the ride as well. Featuring artists from Minneapolis, Discoah has taken the opportunity to showcase what his city has been wiring over the long winter months. From the bouncy and bubbly baselines and synths of Able and Aaron Bliss, to the swinging upbeat grooves of Niles Shepard and Chuck Love showing off his skills on the keys in the opening of the compilation.

From there we have Discoah’s fellow Plus Plus label mate Jeff Swiff taking it down a notch with an MPC sampling affair that is reminiscent of early trip hop grooves to the dusty and smokey beats of Berndt. Aaron Brooks and Christian James give us some throw back old school house that is raw and flowing with character that will keep any dance floor moving. 

ACG breaks it down with a striped down house affair with an elastic, analog bassline and tasteful use of choice vocal samples. Jason Heinrichs shows off his funkier side with gnarly bassline and brass flares that keeps the listener engaged while Jake Encinas turns the heat up with sexy innuendos that don’t get lost in translation.

Discoah himself brings his own flavor of music to the table, with a subby bassline that brings while discoah inspired chords flow over top. Fourfeet brings the energy back up with a skipping drum beat that pushes start to finish while serenading about the end of the night. Label head Jason Bay makes his obligatory appearance with drug infused groove that laments about the current distaste that has become club life. Soundbed wraps up the compilation with an energetic groove that always feels like it’s a beat away from falling over the cliff but still manages to hold on by a thread, toeing that line between chaotic tension and driving nocturnal energy.

Chicago’s very own Mike Brankis is back on Plus Plus, this time around with his own three track EP featuring his own brand of warm, stripped down house vibes. Along for the ride Mike has asked his mates Housework, Fruckie and Lois to do a remix along his longtime friend Mr. Wright. Garden Party also makes an appearance to finish off the EP, while contributing his studio prowess in the chunkier realm of tech house.

Mike opens the Ep with “Seek & Find”, an hypnotic house jaunt that’s built on a running chord that evolves and modulates throughout the track. A female vocal punctuates the track, providing a touch of soul and character. 

Builing on the opening track, “Strangers” opens with a large and boomy kick with a dubbed out snare on top. Trippy stabs are brought in to provide a foundation for everything to build on with a female adlibbing to produce a subtle sense of urgency and to excitement. 

“Tropican” is a tech house romper, upping the ante and going all in on dance floor hysteria. A thumbing drum machine groove set the stage while a sustained chord provides a bed for everything else to build upon. A pulsing bassline accents the drum machine groove while soft, swirling chords give the track focus and direction. Perfect for building anticipation for a set!

Housework, Fruckie & Lois have teamed up to remix “Seek & Find”. With hard swung hard and an analog inspired bassline, the trio have channeled their inner Chicago house roots. Dubbed out chords panning left to right fill the aural spectrum while the take the vocals from the original and process them in homage to those early Chicago house pioneers.

Hailing all the way from San Diego via D.C., Mr. Wright takes “Strangers” and turns it into a deep and techy affair. With a tight, punchy kick and a warm bassline running underneath, Mr. Wright had edited and chopped the vocals from the original and has deployed them in place of a percussion line to create a unique audio bed that still provides energy and drive.

Garden Party wraps up this EP with his remix of “Tropican”. Where the original was more stripped down and focused on punishing dance floors, Garden Party shows his softer side while still keeping it thick and bold. Garden Party takes the original sustained pad from the original and builds up a lush soundscape. With melancholy keys and chords on top of a reserved beat, Garden Party shows off his range after a slew of more energetic outings while still maintaining his signature style.

01. Mike Brankis - Seek & Find [SC Preview]

We've finally hit double digits and we couldn't be more excited about who's on tap for this release.

Even though they only have a handfullof releases, Trav & Volta are no slouch in the studio. With the title track "Straight Talking" they were able to catch a fun, bouncey party groove with this one. The bassline just talks and bounces it's way through the track, with a bright synth line that just struts its stuff. And to top it off they have a lovely, soulful diva that just speaks to you and keeps those feet moving. 

On the flip side (can we even say that anymore?) we have the deep and blissed out "Perky Lady".  A deep, smooth bassline is the hallmark of this track and Trav & Voltas drum work is addicting as ever in this one.  The diva is back on this one as well talking about the perky lady that we all have in our lives.

Up first on remix duties is the talented Denis Yashin.  He took a stab at "Straight Talking" and delivered one of the more feel good songs of the season we think. Just a fun, funky bassline that drags a bit and some euphoric but restrained synths that we are sure will be putting a smile on your face. And the cherry on top is his clever and subtle use of the originall acapella to help accentuate the track. 

And to help us finish this release and bring everything to a close is the youn gun Correlate. Young in years he may be, but he definitely has an old soul, and that shows the most in his productions. Reminiscent of all those classic Chicago House records, Correlate channels the Windy City in this remix like few others can.  Fun organ stabs, jazzed out piano keys on top and a bassline that just screams to be danced to. This kid is going to be doing great things in the future, and we couldn't be any more excited to have him on board!

Plus Plus is back with an EP from new comer Lansdub. After being featured on our fall compilation from 2019, we knew we had to get him back on the label with his own EP! Along for the ride we have one half of Nathan Wool on remix duties along with Garden Party and fan fav Below Bangkok rounding off the EP.

Lansdub opens his solo EP with the haunting rhythms of “Primitive Beings”. A pitched down moody affair, Lansdub’s kick and bass play off of each other to great effect, creating a push and pull reaction that drives the track start to finish. With filtered hats swinging over top and percussive synth line that adds a touch of drama, “Primitive Beings” is the perfect track to welcome dancers onto the dance floor.

Following up with the EP’s namesake, “Weeping Robots” is a classic deep house affair. With a drum groove that locks in while lush pads saturate the background, Lansdub demonstrates a veteran understanding of using less to create a thicker atmosphere, and how subtle changes to a single part can have a subtle impact to how the track feels and is perceived. 

“Still” was featured on our fall compilation from last year, and was really the catalyst for this whole endeavor. Still sounding as fresh today, with a heavy focus on thick and gut punching drums, Landsdub has quickly developed a signature that walks the fine line between pitched down house grooves and dubbed out synths that still maintains enough forward momentum to keep the dance floor intrigued.

Fan favorite Below Bangkok takes “Primitive Beings” and asks the listener to trust them on the journey they are about to embark on. With ethereal pads filling the space from the beginning, Below Bangkok strips the drums down to it’s bare essentials with kick that accents the arrangement more than drives the narrative. A track that sits perfectly in any ambient set as well as setting the tone for any opening DJ, Below Bangkok has once again shown off his tireless studio prowess.

As one half of Nathan Wool, Ared goes solo on his remix of “Weeping Robots”. Sampling the original track and using the pads as accents, Are takes us on a vintage house trip with a Detroit influenced analog drum groove and classic bassline plucked from years past, Ared provides a record box staple for years to come.

The myth known simply as Garden Party has completely reimagined what could have been done with “Still” if you gave a ravaged badger an 8-Ball and locked him in a studio over a holiday weekend. Relentless toms bounce from the start while a heavy kick pounds the earth. The main synth line survived the badgers weekend assault, but has the wounds to show for it. Need it thick? Garden Party knows how to bring the girth!

Lansdub & Kamosoul - Weeping Robots [SC Preview]

Plus Plus is back again with one of our latest signings manning the helm this time around. Correlate brings a classic sounds back with some youthful enthusiasm that we are sure will conjure up some memories from your raving days. You know who you are, so don't try to deny it! On remix duties we have our resident dynamic UK duo Chemical Play back for  another round and the jersey kid SRS BSNS bringing a tougher sound to round off the release.

To open the EP we have "About Me".  Definitely a track that brings back those long forgotten warehouse parties with the diva just belting them out over a driving bassline with a vintage drum machine just taking care of business. Definitely one for dark rooms and bright lights.

To help balance out the opening track, we turn to "Don't Lie". With buttery smooth pads and a soulful accapella, this one is sure to bring out your inner dancing queen, especially when the sax player comes in and works it with the piano, there's no end to the feel good grooves we've all come to love.

Following that up we have a throw back, back to basics deep house vibe. "Living For The Night" isn't afraid to strip down to the basics and show that all you need to work a floor is a bouncy bassline, some hypnotic chords and a diva who just want to "live for the night".

For a change of pace we bring in the kid from jersey. SRS BSNS takes a hold of "Don't Lie" and doesn't show any remorse in tearing it down. With a big, mean throbbing bassline and a tough,  driving groove he just pushes the track and the dance floor to it's edge before bringing it back in with the original key. Before you know it though the groove is back to push you again and keep you moving. Yeah, this kid definitely has a bright future. Don't miss out on his work!

And bringing us home once again is our D.U.D. (refer back to the top if needed) Chemical Play. Saying their take on "Living For The Night" is deep and hypnotic is an understatement. With a low, slinky groove and a bassline that doesn't stop this track is definitely one for the after hours when it's time to get a little weird and a bit freaky. They mangled the original accapella into something eerie and yet beautiful at the same time that just haunts you through out the track. And yet theirs a glimmer of hope during the breakdown with the subtle, but almost euphoric pads until it all comes back crashing down. Yeah, this one is definitely going to be a stable in your record box.

02. Correlate - Don't Lie (SC Preview)

Summer is in full swing, and Plus Plus is back with more summer tunes for dark rooms! We have Nicolas Recalde providing a trio of originals all the way from Ecuador. The Ep is a master class in post minimal music for a modern world. On remix duties we have fan favorite James Reid making a guest appearance along with new comers Scanner Darkly and Shervaan Bergsteedt rounding off the release.

Kicking off the EP we have Nicolas teaming up with Daniela Alban on Virtual Rootz. Originally featured on Fall compilation, we still think it sounds fresh today as it did when we first heard it. An infectious four to the floor groove opens the track, while tasteful atmospheric touches swirl around the track to give it depth and space. The track pushes and moves to the muted chord stabs to add a touch of push and emotion, delivering a post minimal house track with soul.

Next we have Nicolas on a solo outing with Her Words Upon Me. Nicolas demonstrates his talents for thick, bold grooves while still maintaining a gentle touch of soul. The machine drum driven groove is upfront and driving while a female vocals are sampled from years past. the arpeggio line ups the ante while washy sustained chords add a touch of drama to the whole affair.

Nicolas last outing is a stellar example of what we feel is the post minimal movement. Stripped down organic grooves open the track while a subtle, drone-esque synth grows underneath. The track continues with muted chords underneath filling out the space, with the filters opening and modulating until it gets to a full on cacophony of aural pleasure before stripping back to the main groove.

Kicking off the remix round, Jame Reid is back after a mini hiatus. James takes Her Words Upon Me and creates the quintessential deep house track for the modern era. An effective, rhythmic bassline is front and forward, while a subtle drum track vibes underneath. The chords from the original are far more pronounced this time around, giving a touch expanse to a audio field. 

The first of two new comers, Scanner Darkly shows off his vision of Her Words Upon Me. Boasting modern studio techniques, Scanner's signature style shines with his punchy, crisp drum programming and his impeccable taste for subtle riffs and motifs. A throbbing bassline plays off the kick to create a forceful drive while plucky synths dance around, teasing the listen in. Scanner show's off his intimate knowledge of the dance floor by maintaining the tension start to finish, never letting up but not over indulging as well. 

Finishing off the EP we have Shervaan Bergsteedt's Interpretation of When We Were There. A subtle, broken beat introduces the track with gentle pads hovering overhead. Dubbed out drums punctuate the track with a sub bassline adding weight to balance the track out. The hypnotic nature draws you in, looping and drawing you in. The vocals from the original make an appearance, haunting the listener before the highs drop out and it drifts off to it's final conclusion.

And we're back! To help ++ kick off the summer proper we asked Denis Yashin to provide us with the sound track to what we are hoping will be many a sunrise mornings.

To get us started in the right direction we have the low slung, but oh so funky "Just Love". With Denis Yashin's signature vocals questioning why we need anything more than love, a heavy baseline that bounces around with a bit of bite and gentle pads to help glue everything together, "Just Love" is really a song for the dance floor lovers who want to escape to that special place only they know about.

Keeping on with the good vibes, Denis brings us the upbeat grooves of "No Words". Featuring some funky guitar work and a baseline that leaves an impression on you (and in your chest!), "No Words" is the perfect day time party track to signal the coming sunset and get you ready for the shenanigans only the night can bring.

Rounding off the batch of originals, Denis Yashin definitely takes it down a notch with a slow burner that just grooves along and bubbles with a subtle, but powerful tension. "Nothing Was Its Name" is the soundtrack to those lazy summer afternoons, relaxing under a tree with your lover while soaking up the few rays of sunlight that peak through the branches. Denis definitely takes more of a somber approach, cooing over the groove while reflecting on his past, all accompanied by soft, eerie and yet welcoming synths. Yeah, the track is that good.

Kicking of the remix round, we have invited STOP!WaitinG Records head honcho Rafael Cerato, and being true to form Rafael deliver's the goods. Taking Denis Yashin's vocals from "Just Love", Rafael delivers a funky sun soaked beach time track. Taking the baseline for a walk while coupled together with his classic approach to 80's synths, we can't wait to see the crowds embracing each other and losing themselves in the moment when this track takes over the dancefloor.

Carrying on from where Rafael left off, young gun Alejandro Romero's approach to "No Words" picks up where Rafael left off. Creating those signature spaces that only Alejandro can, with his use of warm pads, a sparse but funky bassline and simple yet infectious drum programming, this remix will be a memorable one to close the night down for many a summer parties to come.

And just when you thought it was over, Silkast brings the heat to help us round off this dynamic EP. Taking a more classic approach, with a chunky bassline and a groove reminiscent of those early Chicago deep house tracks Silkast definitely leaves his mark. Accompanying Denis Yashin's haunting vocals are some lovely pads, jazzy key flares and some old school strings, this will be the highlight of many day time parties to come this summer!

Denis Yashin - Just Love (Rafael Cerato's Love Me Some More Remix) (SC Preview)

After gaining underground and media critical acclaim alike for his Teggno Records establishment, Lance decided it was time create a new musical outlet. Where as Teggno Records is focused on the more forward thinking and cutting edge end of the techno spectrum, it was time to take a step back, drop the bpms a bit and enjoy the groovier, more subdued end of the dance spectrum.

Enter Plus Plus, Lance's new output for anything deep and dubby. The perfect balance to his already reputable Teggno outlet, Plus Plus is in the process of building a network of like minded individuals and really believes in building a "family first" mentality while helping it's young and raw roster develop and hone their skills.
