My version of the 3rd verse of this, then my composition "Tag". My guitar picking is a thumb and 2 finger banjo roll, with some hammer-ons. The guitar is my Dad's Harmony Sovereign, capoed up, and my voice.

You are not hearing the #4 HD on the left, but the previous #3. This was mastered to double speed cassette 4 track, 2 stereo takes with close Shure 57 mics, Anteres Mic Modeler processed to Manley Gold mics, mixed with some panning in Sound Forge. #4 probably will be a "Piano Dulcimer" with fully chromatic tuning. I am imaginig a detachable keyboard, activating rotating dowels terminated with dual excentricly mounted wire rakes to pluck the strings. Side brass wrapping channel is already drilled for tuning pins and box-end brazed, 3-piece fir soundboard is cut to shape. As you see, curved back and transverse bracing is in place.

This is a clip of myself improvising on my self-built hammer dulcimer #4 for movie "The world of birds". The movie is copywrited by Les Cheneaux Historical Society and features Harry Harris' photos and commentary. Recorded outdoors, Shure 58 mic to double speed analog cassette, digital transfer and reverb and mastering in SoundForge.

3 years in Akron Ohio, 14 years in Hessel Michigan, 9 years in Oberlin Ohio, 3 years in Sandusky, 6 more years in Oberlin because of L . Dean Nuernberger's chorus, and there were 3 different movies each week that I really wanted to see (3 college film clubs and a commercial duplex), 23 years now in Hessel.  I plan to get younger. I love to make wooden boxes, sometimes they are hammer dulcimers. When people laugh at me and it makes me happy, I know they are my friend. When it makes me sad, usually it is because they are hiding that they are afraid of me. I am not dangerous, except to your serenity if you have extra money. Extra money is always unpaid wages, either to people or to the earth which allows us to live. Extra money makes me very angry. And, Music is my mistress, everyone had best be ready to share me with her.
