A song I started writing in 2013 and finally finished more than 10 years later.  

I messed up the instrumentation quite a bit so this will be redone at some point.  I just needed to get it finished.

On the Floor Again (Trying to Forget) [demo]

2nd Demo of my song "On the Floor Again" that I wrote in 2013 and started re-writing some time in 2015 and then finally finished in 2024.

I'm more or less experimenting with different sounds for the song.  Once I get the sound I'm looking for I'll be redoing the vocal tracks because... ouch.  I know I'm not a good vocalist, plus I recorded the vocals with the microphone built-in to the apple earbuds that come with iphones/ipads lol.  Gotta do what you gotta do.

This entire thing was done with only a squier telecaster, line-6 V 30 spider amp and an ipad.  I played the guitar tracks and then added drums & synthesized bass and other instruments.  

This song will likely keep evolving.

On the Floor Again [2nd Demo]

Friday, February 9th, 2024 - my fiancé and I watched Taylor Swift's Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions and I was blown away.  I had only heard some of her pop singles but Folklore has some absolutely incredible songwriting.  I felt inspired.

I woke up Saturday morning, and wrote this song.  I finished the recording and basic mix on Sunday afternoon because I ran out of time to sing during the day on Saturday (because I'm self-conscious of singing when too many neighbours in my apartment building are at home).

I'm actually kind of proud of this song, but would love to re-do the vocals in a setting where I don't have to stifle my volume and tone.  I also need to get better at singing.

The Story of Everything (unmastered demo)

Since the original version of this song was written in an indie-folk style with an acoustic guitar and ukelele, I wanted to do it again in a more traditional folk style rather than trying to re-write it as a rock tune.

After messing around with this song for so long now .. i am so so sick of it and realize that it's not very good at all.  I originally wrote it when I was listening to a lot of Bright Eyes and Chuck Ragan so.. there's that.
