Mike James has an eclectic and oftentimes emotionally intense vision of music. By tapping into the pulse and raw nerves of music's more familiar forms, he manages to take the ordinary and familiar and  reshape it into something special. Nuances of emotional honesty and sincerity can be found throughout his songs. Armed with his straight-from-the-heart approach to the craft, he presents the listener with what usually appear to be simple songs on the surface. The subtle complexities within can't be directly heard. They must be felt by the listener.
