This song is placed around the time I was graduating high school and had all the expectations of going to college on top of being in settings that were unsafe to live. 

I briefly bring up an earlier time of when I was placed away from all my family and had to go back to the group home after a day visit. The troubles that I had during those times made me feel deserted. I would’ve lost myself and succumb to the environment, if I didn’t have such a role model to guide me.

Directly focusing on the mothering figure that helped me when actual guardians failed me, I make it clear that our bond is what keeps me sane and despite all the negativity in my life, I am still perfect in their eyes.
