“It feels like certain patterns of movement exist both on big societal scales and in the smallest everyday life. Something might break or crystalize, something might force you to adapt or inspire you to change shape, morph into something new.
I have always been interested in transformation. Sometimes I got caught in the thought that I had to change myself for the better. But I found that it is not about changing, but about existing in a constantly changing flow of polarities, ups and downs.
With this sound piece I have worked with eight different steps of a cyclic pathway that can go on forever in a loop. There is no right or wrong place to begin or end the loop. Every step of the path will come eventually and lead to the next step. Flow. Friction. Shatter. Zoom. Ray. Morph. Entity. Space… Flow.”
“The cycle of metamorphosis moves between elements of struggle, puzzles, alteration, and revelation. As an alternative to the theories of new beginnings on clean slates, ground zeros or linearly progresses, this cycle plays with the repetition of time. New worlds are built from old ones, new life springs from former life. We are all part of cycles: ecological, historical and spiritual. We can learn how to be present and patient knowing that everything moves and changes again.”
Sofie Birch is a sound artist and producer known for her extensive work with soft ambient releases, live shows, animation films and art installations. With electronic hardware and field recordings, she creates melodic compositions that are produced with a sense of brightness and spirit encouraging its listeners to dream and dwell. She has a profound interest in the healing nature of sound and vibrations and works across disciplines with other artists on expanding our understanding of mind and body through art.

Jan Nemeček is a synthesist and sound designer hailing from Belgrade, Serbia. He has been releasing electronic music since 2005, with a particular focus on ambient and bass-heavy electronic compositions. Nemeček’s music is characterized by his use of a wide range of sound generating tools, including neural networks, analog synthesizers, and granular synthesis.
Jan Nemeček is an artist of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art, co-funded by the European Union and Pro Helvetia.
This mix is a porous constellation of recent obsessions and personal artifacts—an assemblage of tracks that have lingered with me over the past few years, entangled with fragments of my own (un)released work.

Nasi Chavchavadze and Alexander Khokhiashvili as NASI &amp; ALEXANDER are a Georgian duo specializing in experimental electronic-acoustic music. Nasi is a musician, cellist, percussionist, composer, and DJ who enjoys pushing the boundaries of sound and performance. Alexander, also a musician, drummer, composer, and DJ, shares a passion for experimental sound exploration.
Together, they are part of the electro-acoustic-experimental music project “Metastasis,” which has made waves in the Georgian electronic music scene. In 2023, “Metastasis” performed at prominent venues like Bassiani/Zenaari and TKESHI, earning acclaim for their dynamic live shows.
Beyond this project, Nasi and Alexander are active in other musical endeavors, including the popular alternative band MokuMoku, which blends hip-hop, jazz, funk, soul, and rock. Their collaborative and versatile approach to music makes them a unique and exciting duo to experience at any festival.
NASI &amp; ALEXANDER are artists of the SHAPE+ platform for innovative music and interdisciplinary art, co-funded by the European Union and Pro Helvetia.
The given set is based on a live performance by me &amp; Nasi, where we improvise with drums and cello, accompanied by fixed media recordings from our various projects. It also includes tracks from our existing experimental project “Metastasis.” The  combination of instruments and  distinctive electronic sound creates an unfamiliar and diverse mix.
