this is the set that i played at toil trees for some very keen ravers way back in the day... 2004 style things were simpler then it was all mixed on vinyl for a start! If you were lucky enough to be there you knew that some thing big was brewing in them trees and if you'v been lucky enough to go back to the trees since, you know the score. massive respect to the toil boys. keep um coming.

My remix of Barbara Tucker's 1994 classic house record, I Get Lifted. As far as I know the sample rights for the vocal belong to Strictly Rhythm. I know that they have granted rights to other remixes that sample from their catalogue in the past, so hopefully it should not be too difficult to get this one cleared.

I made this tune at the start of lockdown with a vocal sample that I took from an Instagram post about a Glitter Box event organised by Defected records. I thought that the vocal captured the emotion of the dance community during lockdown. I think it still feels relevant now!

Back To Basics  - Pocket Size Dave

Mixing funky new hooks with crowd pleasing classics to create infectious, jackin’ grooves is what he does best. The Miniature Mixologist has been throwing down eclectic selections for over two decades now. He is a long serving resident DJ at the legendary après ski nightclub Dick’s Tea Bar in Val d’Isere, France. He honed DJ his craft in the early 2000s playing regular sets at raves and free parties in the north of England with the Toil Sound System, who are now the heart of the Beat Herder Festival. Over the years Dave has played on line ups alongside the likes of Andy Weatherall, Paul Woolford, Norman J, Kissy Sell Out, and A Skillz, to name just a few.

Dave produces house music that is influenced by the breakbeats of the rave era, the funky grooves of disco and a French Touch of electro from his adopted home. With a steady stream of releases planned in the near future, keep an eye on this space for all the new Pocket Size sounds.
