"You're So Far Away" from the album;  Jay Aaron Inside/Out

"Carry the Wheel" is one of my favorite songs on the album. Though it's an instrumental, in my mind it's a metophor for reality, and for those who are unaware. Unaware, and unable to see the function of the wheel, because it's invisable to them. Their minds cannot grasp consiously or unconsiously the inspired reality of change by simply rolling the wheel. The wheel has a purpose. That said, there are many unable to visualize the the concept of the wheel, so they continue blindly making life harder for themselves and others. It's odd, I've always pictured millions of ants (so painfully slow), climbing up a very steep mountain carrying a wheel. If there were a way to say to them, Hey Ants... try this instead, but that would be madness to them because forever they have carried that same wheel up that same mountain for millions of years, and nothing I would say could change that. Comprehension is the the cornerstone of life, and if you are unable to visualize, you will forever be bound to Carrying the Wheel up the damn mountains.

A very personal song that I wrote on my Rickenbacker while sitting in a field of green grass south of Austin. It's about truth and giving yourself away. It was reviewed incorrectly once saying it was a religious ballad. Not true. It's about letting go. Letting go to the sometimes unimagional, to the universe, to listen to your heart, and for forgiveness. I actually didn't write the song. The song came to me in a vision while alone in that field. The lyrics, melody, arrangement, everything all at once. It's never happened that way since. This was when I was in my early 20's, but I felt it important to record for my first album in the way it first came to me, when I needed it the most. In a way, (and at that time) this song literally saved my life.

04 Burning High And Bright

Many thanks to Malcolm Harper & Realsound Recording, Eric Johnson on piano & guitar, Reggie Witty on bass, Sebastian Waterloo on drums, and yours truly on guitars and vocals. I wrote "Walk Don't Run" on a rooftop in NYC. It was a chilly New Years evening, the stars were out, and the bottle of Vodka helped to warm things up nicely. It was a truly Magical evening. Just me, my girl, and my Rickenbacker. Happy 2012 to you all.
