8 Mile: What's really happening along one of Detroit's famous roads with Cindy Thomas of the 8 Mile Boulevard Association

There's a lot of myth around Detroit's 8 Mile. From being featured in Eminem's movie of the same name, to being a "border street" between the city and suburbs, there's more nuance and more going on than people might assume along the 27 mile stretch that the 8 Mile Boulevard Association works with.

This week on TSB, the crew come back after almost a month off. They address the situation with both Crep Protect and White Ranger, while getting acclimated at their home in Podcast Detroit. 

There seems to be a lot of shoes coming out that no asked for, like the "Flint Grey" Air Jordan 19s and a Reebok Iverson hybrid, affectionately dubbed on the show as the Reebok Robot Chicken. 

3 women designers worked with LeBron James to create the FIRST Nike LeBron sneaker for women. Crazy enough, they actually came in Caesar's size. 

Allegedly, both PUMA and Adidas wanted to sign Colin Kaepernick, leaving middle aged, white people everywhere left wondering what brand of sneakers they could still buy every three years. 

Speaking of Kaepernick, the crew give their two cents on the Nike controversy, which included a pastor in Mobile, Alabama (surprised?!) who cut up some Nike apparel during his sermon, and the College of the Ozarks banning all Nike products from their campus. The crew calls a local store in the area to see how it affected their business. Here's a hint: it didn't.

Hani is located in Bethesda, Maryland, with her private practice. She has trained and supervised therapists and professionals in the field of human sexuality throughout the world. Plus, she is the author of two books, including the clinically revered, Mother-Son Incest: The Unthinkable Broken Taboo Persists. On this show, Joe and Hani discuss one of the most taboo sexual subjects out there; mother-son incest.

As Joe says, “When a man sexually abuses it’s more overt. But when a woman does it, particularly a mother, it’s more covert.”  Hani agrees, and goes on to point out that most mother-son incest perpetrators tend to be, “very needy women.” Despite society’s denial of it, mother-son incest does happen, but most people don’t want to think about it, talk about it, or do anything about it. Let’s find out why….
