02 နင္တကယ္ခ်စ္ရင္

The clink-clink 
of my shackles 
shadows my footfall.

BANG! BANG!
I get numb         
under repeated blows.
               
Survival seems 
as thin as cirrus. 
The concrete floor is my bed. 

That’s where I lay my head.
When I wake up, 
I will find myself 
resurrected —
in my motherland.

P.O.E.M is a bedroom concept-ego music project by Moe Myat May Zarchi who is known as a filmmaker and a multidisciplinary artist. She works with narrative & experimental films and audiovisual works. She has dabbled in the music scene since 2013 mainly playing synthesizers. She is a multi-instrumentalist and a composer working with piano, guitar, Ableton, digital synth, effect pedals and semi-modular synth. She loves to collect and geek on unusual musical toys and interesting sonic textures. Under P.O.E.M, her music incorporates elements of noise pop/art pop/ psychedelic pop/funk/folk and contemporary music. She is working towards her first studio album which portrays a female warrior character who wanders across myths and space such as forest, ocean and cosmic in search of her belief.
