Poetry reading: 

She took me by the hand
and led me down a road.
only fog waited ahead. 
with each step the smoke
clouds and frozen rain 
became plentiful—the guise
of dead flower petals fell.
down into her palms, she
ate them: a cold stare 
amongst the glass-like
thoughts. Her hand like
some kind of sea-creature:
unearthly, smooth, strange. 
I revved toward the moonlit 
fog and brushed past crying
thoughts, moments, days. 
"I’ve led you this way for 
reasons you may not know”. 
she took my arm in her palm.
snapped the bone in half, looked
at me, square in the face, the eyes.
a smirk, a half crescent moon:
epiphany blue breath and ice. 
it hurt, how it hurt like hell, but within
the way she existed, I could tell. 
within the way she screamed I 
couldn’t help but wonder if there 
was a reason for her unexpected
avalanche of suffering.
