D-FORMATION is Dimas Carbajo, the owner and main exponent of BEATFREAK GROUP, a business alliance which is proud to include, among many others, the first Spanish record label of underground electronic music , BEATFREAK RECORDINGS, which has been conveying this national music style to the entire planet since 1997.

With over 25 years in his career path, both in worldwide booths and music studios in his role as a producer, D-FORMATION is one of the most respected electronic music artists across the world. Proof of that is his album 'MADRID' for YOSHITOSHI, (Deep Dish's label), which was launched in one of the most prestigious compilation series of the industry, being the only Spanish artist featured in it so far.

This October, Get Physical Music will inaugurate their Detroit Gets Physical series, curated by DJ One Five. Before then, the label look to release a series of taster EPs, with the first one coming from Laurent Chanal. 

Chanal's roots date back to lighting up clubs with tech house sounds in the mid-nineties. Since then he has gone on to international acclaim as both Petit Ange and under his own name with music on labels such Resopal and more. His colourful sounds owe a lot to Detroit and he has had support for them from greats like Sasha and Laurent Garnier. 

The superbly compelling 'Carbon' is a deep, rolling track where house meets techno. The main chord riff loops hypnotically as the smooth drums suck you in. Lithe, textured synths join the mix later on to lift the energy and ensure the club goes wild. 

Remixing is UK mainstay Vince Watson, who has been a pivotal artist since the 90s. His connection with Detroit runs deep having released on vital Motor City labels like Planet E and 430 West. He serves up two separate remixes, Part 1+2, as well as combining both into a third version. Each one brings more intensity as the pressure builds through sleek synths and rumbling drums. A raw sense of futuristic machine soul and grainy atmosphere defines each track and truly conveys that authentic Detroit sound. 

The fantastic Carbon EP joins the dots between European and Mid-Western sounds in stylish new ways.

Timo Maas is a legend and a dance music pioneer that has been on a 30-year quest to deliver his musical wizardry to the world. He has been a constant industry presence, touring on a regular basis and releasing music on the best record labels globally. 
It is a true honor for Tenampa to have him for our 100th release!  

‘The Religion of Love’ is a dark driven progressive workout with a cleverly constructed soundscape of brass basslines and atmospheric lead lines with meticulously detailed rhythmic patterns that will keep you on the hook. 

On the Remix duties is Europe dance scene favorite Kotelett from the German duo Kotelett&Zadak, who are known for their regular releases on Poker Flat and Exploited Records.

Kotelett shows great respect to Timo's work by sticking to the mood of the original track, but offering a more spaced out version with a warmer groove and additional melodic elements. 

‘Brummer’ is up next, again Timo displaying his signature style: “percussive wet funk”. Deep, dark and raw! As the track develops a loud sci-fi-like synths appear in the sonic range, building tension and maintaining a hypnotic edge.

Closing the package is a bonus mix by Kotelett adding punchier and chunkier drums, hypnotic yet moody and musical. This one is a bit of a gem.
