Eastern German wunderkind Lexer brings his own brand of melancholia to Poesie via his ‘Childhood’ EP. The eponymous original takes us away on a nocturnal ceremony, complete with inquisitive bass, climbing synths and a rolling vibraphone—all stacked under a set of ethereal vocals invoking the spirits within. It all comes to a breathy head before the vibes bring it home, shamans and all. Cascandy’s remix, meanwhile, is a symmetrical dance floor fire-starter that hollows it out and turns up the distortion. Pitched maracas and bongoes thrown in for good measure round out the offer alongside a crunchy old kick. The filtered bonfire below the original’s starry sky.
