Yikes-or-What to Do? - Audio Recording

A 4-line kernel from Feb 2005 when I wanted my kids to be OK with my death (not that I was planning or expecting it!) turned into a complete song by encouragement from Kevin Cramsey, the musician who put the lyrics to song.  Originally titled, Forever, Kevin suggested I write more lyrics, a name change and did the vocals, instrumental arrangement and is the Artist Extraordinaire - The song wrote me and partly dedicated to my father who died fall 2016 at the age of 90 from complications of Alzheimer's, here pictured with me in one of the happier moments, his birthday in 2015.

Wherever You Are

A tale of hope and possibility, sparked by learning how my niece did a Snow Dance in 1990.  They lived in Texas then, were up north visiting and she was about 4 years-old, announced she was going to dance for snow and she did.  To minimize near-certain disappointment, her Dad explained it was very unlikely it would snow in April, even in Pennsylvania.  The next day it snowed!  You can dance for other things, too.

A story of a father's wish for their child, to grow and become all they can be, making it through adventures, fun, and challenges along the way.

Golden Wing

One morning in late November 2016, I went outside to get the newspaper and beheld a magical sight.  In the stillness of dawn and silence of early morning, a tree was shedding its leaves in clusters and bunches, the various shapes were spinning, dropping, and cascading to the ground in a sacred way, communicating something important that I tried to transcribe as I witnessed a transformation.  I scribbled pages of ideas that later became this poem and it seemed to be about something crucial, vital news that should be conveyed upwards to the highest level, hence the title . . . something about the journey of life, everyone's tale, something to see.

Go Tell The King

Children communicate their hopes, dreams, and wishes to us and if we're listening, we hear.  This poem is a back and forth dialogue between a child's actions, and the Fairy reactions, and how they connect, intertwine, and work to make life and love possible. Happy Listening, Happy Learning. The first half of Chapter One - Peter and The Monster Food Girl (formerly called The Monster Within) is a 20,000 word middle-grade novel, a story of friendship that develops from the actions and adventures shared by a girl and monster who inhabit different worlds but find themselves connected and working towards a common goal (Klara wants to get back home), fraught with roadblocks, challenges, and struggles, internal and external. The most moving part of a Suicide Prevention Conference from June 2017 was the panel discussion by those directly affected by someone's suicide (mothers, siblings, relatives, friends of people who had killed themselves) sharing their pain, anguish, stories, and experiences of how the person's death affected them and the endless haunting.  Later, I put together this song, thinking it might help someone who is feeling down, know that it will get better, and to persevere, and avoid a drastic action that will only make more pain for others.  Thank you for listening, sharing, and Thank You Kevin for bringing the lyrics to life.
