Holt Ironfell - Ashes & Dust (Pre-Alpha Version)

Sir Holt Ironfell, Grandmaster Bard of Poets' Circle, presents his first and proudest piece "Dance of Fawns" in honor of Lord British and Richard Garriott's spiritual successor to Ultima: "Shroud of the Avatar".

This is a demo of an idea for night music in Shroud of the Avatar. The Spoken Word at the end is based on the yet unfinished tales I've been writing about Holt & Company. The words will not appear in the final in-game version, so consider this an exclusive! :)

I have the only memory of your eyes and your lips to guide me through the void... still I hear you, the woman you were, after all these endless years. But now I'm coming, my love... I'm coming... A short parable concerning the ancient dilemma of art and money. Narrated by 3 Bards of Poets' Circle: Sharm, Lord Baldrith and Grand Duke Kailef.

Presented as a gift to his Majesty Lord British.

This is the same arrangement as previous versions with drums back in -- just less of them. Some volume and panning tweaks. Trying to go easy on the EQ but might have to dive back in to master this on a few different speakers/headphones.

Truth on Zither (a medieval instrument) -gradual complexity
Love on a Large Dizi (chinese silk road wind instrument)
Courage on solo Trumpet & Low Brass

The objective was to make this song less heavy than the "Power of Virtue" version, pull the reverb way back and give it a more traditional feel, while still retaining elements of epic fantasy. Female vocals are a placeholder intro/outro idea. Not necessary, but I felt it was a nice touch that further unites the songs.

Holt - "Light of Virtue" (Lord British Approved)

Primarily using the asian instruments in East West Quantum Leap Silk, and a subtle Daiko drum (also asian) which are gorgeous and add a good deal of expression to keeping this piece simple. 
 
Suggestions of further instrumentation or changes are welcome. This is the third private release of this demo.

Holt - "Love" (Feminine Version)

This was a collab between Holt and Sharm early in Poets' Circle's history as a guild. It can be found in pre-alpha versions of the game near a certain tombstone in the vicinity of Braemar's graveyard.

Holt ft. Sharm- "By Shattered Moonlight" (SotA Easter Egg)

This is around the 4th revision or so of the virtue of "Truth" theme as a stand alone track to be played in certain zones in-game. It is composed primarily of medieval (the zither) and early-renaissance strings. An innocent music box alludes back to the original "Power of Virtue" song.
