Every now and then a release comes along for us which carries just that little extra bit of weight and significance and the Mind In A Daze EP from Solid Gold Playaz is one of those.  The US duo have released some of my favourite house tracks dating back to the late nineties so it is a real pleasure to have them produce four amazing new tracks for us here on Freerange.  Kenny Gino and Mike T have had many highly rated releases on revered labels such as DNH, Moods n Grooves, Silver Network and their own Solid Gold Records.  Resolutely underground, and it’s fair to say criminally underrated, Solid Gold Playaz have stayed true to what they do by releasing the heaviest club music which connects on a far deeper level than your average new house release. I really hope you can give Mind In A Daze some time to grab you in the same way it has grabbed me. 
Kicking off the EP the title track sets the mood with an SGP rolling groove, hypnotic synths and tripped-out vocal delivery from Mike himself. For me, they consistently hit this beautiful sweet spot between jacking Chicago house, Detroit techno and the more European IDM sounds of ART, Irdial and B12. Always deep and musical but with a focus on what will create a magic mood on a late night or early morning dance floor.             
The Kiss gives us another expansive and immersive mood which can’t fail to draw you in.  A driving house groove with punchy claps make the perfect counterpart to the blissed-out widescreen pads and glitchy mechanised synth sequence making for a very special track.   
Let Me See You Jack goes straight for the jugular! Absolutely no messing about on this one, with crunching, unrelenting 808 beats laying a foundation for Mike’s twisted vocal drawing us to the dance floor.  What I wouldn’t give to have heard this dropped by Ron Hardy at the Music Box! 
Closing out the EP we have Optical Illusions, another SGP masterpiece for those who like it seriously deep! The long arrangement gives the track space to breathe and for that beautifully hypnotic vibe which SGP create so well, to really take hold. Serious Jackers Unite!

Disco Renesans EP is a 4 tracks compilation revealing the summer breathe of Lodz. For the production of this mini-album Finger Trips mostly used MPC1000 and sounds from the 1980s, which were recorded from vinyl. All of that went through the soft mastering, but a bit of "dirtiness" was left for sure.

This is the first EP taken from Detroit Swindle’s upcoming debut album “Boxed Out” to be released on the 24th of March 2014 on Dirt Crew Recordings.

To heaten up the anticipation on the long awaited debut album by Amsterdam’s finest Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets we give you three tracks from the album as a little teaser to what is to come on the full length. First up is the title track “Huh, What!” a true Detroit Swindle banger that takes us back to pumping Chicago old school house times. Much like their last EP on Dirt Crew that included “John Doe” this new tune will (and we don’t like this expression but can’t think of another way to explain the sheer brutal power of this track) “destroy” the dancefloors!

If that wasn’t enough bass in your face we got Leon Vynehall and A1 Bassline under their “Laszlo Dancehall” moniker to rip ‘Huh, What!’ to shreds, resulting in a dark, pounding, straight up jackin’ techno groove. Very raw and edgy, tweaking the original’s key elements perfectly to join the dark groove going on. Definitely not for the faint of heart.

The B-Side takes us back to that sweet and deep Detroit Swindle house groove. “The Fat Rat” is much in the style of their last “The Make Up to Break Up” release on their own “Heist” imprint. A groovy percussive and soulful stabby house excursion, Amsterdam to Detroit via New York and back!

“Monkey Wrench”, the last track on this EP, is just beautiful and quite possibly one of the highlight down tempo house tracks of the Album. It has this slow groove we all love from the Swindle’s and a combo between the warm sound of the rhodes and the electronic feel of the arpy bass that really makes you love the track more and more each time you play it.

German producer Munky Fike brings the ‘Vorsprung Durch Technik’ for Pogo House release 150 and delivers the ‘Everybody Ready EP’ a refreshingly original two-track Garage House EP on the Pogo House Records imprint.
Track 1 titled ‘Everybody Ready’ Munky Fike dispatches a warm upbeat melody over clean, effective kicks and percussion arrangement that really give off this nice, 90’s Classic House feel. Munky Fike pretty much nails the formula here on this track alone.  
‘I Get Diip’ is the title of the second track and Munky Fike demonstrates his consistency in production here by serving up another Garage House heater equally as good as the first track, albeit with some added swing and kick to the percussion. Nice strings at the start create a nice level of suspense before the track drops into a highly energetic bassline that keeps your dance floor moving. A very smooth production here on both tracks from a producer definitely worth keeping tabs on.
