Following his ‘Cold Strings’ EP back in May earlier this year, German producer Alex Breitling returns to Purified Records with his latest offering ‘Skyfall’. Devising a melodic soundscape with undulating synth patterns across deep bass, his latest cut embodies his euphoric and powerful musical identity. 

The ‘Skyfall’ artwork showcases an image of a hammerhead shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Hammerhead sharks are known for their distinctive, hammer-shaped heads, which give them an advantage in maneuverability and detecting prey through specialized sensory organs. These adaptations make them highly effective hunters of stingrays, fish, and other sharks. Unfortunately, many hammerhead species are endangered due to overfishing for their fins, habitat destruction, and bycatch, making conservation efforts crucial to their survival. Having already caused seismic dancefloor rumblings alongside Q.U.A.K.E. on their previous Spectrum outing, Serbian duo Innēr Sense return to the label with another striking release, Hope / Outrage.
 
This double-header sees the pair continue to explore the emotional depth and musical intensity that has become their signature, delivering two contrasting yet complementary tracks that embody the ethos of their name: a balance of internal reflection and visceral impact.
 
'Hope' opens with a gnarly bass synth that purrs, slowly building anticipation. Layer by layer, regal synths and pounding drums emerge, culminating in a spine-tingling crescendo. The track's emotional resonance is palpable - a euphoric journey from tension to release.
 
On the flip side, 'Outrage' takes a darker turn. With a vicious synth line that almost breathes, the track radiates a sinister energy, never peaking yet maintaining an intense, shadowy presence. Brooke is an award-winning marine life photographer from Australia, based on Ningaloo Reef in WA. With a background in diving, she now focuses on ocean, travel, and adventure photography, capturing the beauty of the underwater world since 2014.

The scalloped hammerhead's wavy head sets it apart from other hammerhead species, whose heads are flatter. This shape enhances its electroreception, allowing it to better detect prey in sand or mud, a feature shared with other hammerheads but more pronounced in this species. Shark Conservation Fund (@sharkconservationfund) is a global collaboration focused on protecting sharks and rays, investing in policy, science, and advocacy to halt their decline.
