Manchester-based Poison Ivy explores sounds from all over the world, enjoys thinking outside the box and challenging the listener. Originally from Ukraine, she believes it’s important for her to keep in touch with the incredible scene back in Eastern Europe. She prioritises introducing people to music they’ve never heard before and likes to push the boundaries, playing around with tempo and fresh beat patterns. 

Growing up, Ivy never really had anyone to show her new music, so finding out what she liked was a solo journey. This meant exploring pop, hip-hop and rock, before moving onto electronic sounds. To this day she enjoys introducing familiar elements of those genres into dance sets, because there should be no limit to what can be considered dance music. 

This mix starts off with slow revving basslines, progressing into glitchy trap, heavy hitting electro, breaks and footwork, jumping between haunting low frequencies and pure squelchy knockout euphoria. Suitable for the finest dungeon parties. Approach with caution.

had the pleasure to play these tunes out so many times now and realised i havent even got anything recorded! so it was time for an hour of pure dnb on the radio, something i havent done in a while

this is just a mix though i guess, no talking here cuz recorded from home n i dont have a mic, just the trusted DDJ-400

One of the first mixes I ever recorded. I have a lot of love for dnb and thought I'd share it with the world.

Poison Ivy [B.L.O.O.M.] - dnb breaks mix

A chugger is a slow track, can be of light or heavy variety. Chuggers manage to maintain twice the groove at half the bpm. In this case we have a heavy selection of chugs at the start progressing into faster cold wave n EBM tunes towards the end. EBM is kind of like industrial techno with a more raw rock element to it. That's the way I see it anyway. God knows I bloody love chuggers. 

Once again one of the first few mixes I recorded back in September. Mixing definitely got worse towards the end on this one just allow it for now lol

fast tekkers n bits of trance n electro for the party-inclined individuals

[at 22:30 i just let a track end before starting a new one rather than mixing it in so there's like a little gap there. It doesn't work particularly well- sounded fine live in the moment but listening back to it not as much- i liked the rest of the mix though so i decided to just leave it as re-recording mixes doesn't seem to flow in the same way and the mix takes on a slightly different feel after that point anyway. Hope you enjoy regardless x]

this mix is a bit different from my first electro mix, some more sudden transitions but this would be due to a slightly more varied track selection and a few others bits thrown in also because i recorded it at 5am on new years day so happy new year everyone
