Poker Flat Recordings has rarely put a foot wrong in the past 16 years, and one of their undisputed strengths is the wide range of artists they have managed to bring together under one label. This time it’s the turn of Swiss duo Dario D’Attis & Reto Ardour - collaborating on a blistering three tracker. Both Dario and Reto have been central to the scene in their native Switzerland for many years, representing quality house music via countless releases, remixes and DJ residences. Their first outing on Poker Flat shows why.

Virtual Mood gives a good indication of their combined talent - highly polished techhouse that builds and builds into a pressure cooker of a track - sure to cause mayhem on clued-up dance floors.

Shape is similarly rounded in its production values, but opts for a deeper, dubbier vibe that evolves into a techy, emotive monster.
Drop It is a tracky, narcotic jam, deeply loopy and yet with enough space and movement to keep ears and feet locked in.

Some pure, unadulterated heat from Audiomatique Recordings to help against the winter cold. Berlin-based NGHT DRPS and Keinemusik co-founder David Mayer team up to create some raw, atmospheric and techy grooves for Steve Bug’s much lauded label. Both producers have built their own distinctive sounds over a string of releases, and together they deliver a trippy, dubby vibe for the club.

'Follow' builds an intense groove via fizzing percussion and deep drums, with layers of synth washes, stabs and a steadily mutating bass line.

'Now Loading' continues the tense and taut vibe, finding release via clattering percussion and some heavy and twisted sub bass.

The energy and versatility we’re used to when Reinier Zonneveld takes the decks is immediately evident in his latest EP. Opening preceedings with “Sharp Bust”, a straight and to the point trancy bassline leads the way. Decked by mechanic stabs and hi-hats, the groove is simply hypnotic and relentless. ”Rushchamber”, on the other hand, bears a subversive groove, with a minimal and dark bassline. Glitchy cut up vocals give an eerie feel, as the whole atmosphere becomes more and more immersive by the way of multi-layered drums. The final offering, “Flatchat” is anything but flat. Its intricate groove shares the dark and immersive territory of the previous track, while another set of cut up vocals draw instant attention. A descending lead padded with reverb and stabby synths, the last track rounds up the release, ending on a grave and intense note.

Here it is! After months of work, Epsilon is out!

This EP was conceived as an ode to diversity and travel. The journey begins in the meanders of the past with "Jadis", a track that poetically embodies the nostalgia and carefreeness spirit of youth. The adventure then continues in the heart of the Amerindian jungle and its supernatural phenomena in a bewitching piece with tribal accents, "Ayahuasca". The EP also gives pride of place to the modern world and its technological din through "Kernel Panic", a dark and dystopian track. Of course, the duo doesn't forget its classical inspirations with "Decadence", a piece of music conceived as a real tribute to orchestral music. In the same vein, the EP ends on "Ostinato", a concentrate of rhythm, energy and harmony.
