When I first explored the label called Controlla, I was both shocked and surprised, and couldn't imagine such a thing existed in the audio-visual universe. Some years passed, and while it turned out we're running a Mexican-music-outlet @the_ali_x suddenly approached Complaint with crazy track ideas. Now we're talking.

Budapest's Tommy Huracán (aka @kobanya3000) made me wait over a year for this remix, but it's worth every day rolling the Rubik's around. The most consistent and perfect production of the EP, I'm proud, and have tears in my eyes each time listening to it. Thank you!

Saqib & Galactic Girl Unveil Playful and Theatrical House Cut ‘New Me’.

Get Physical Music welcomes Brooklyn-based artist Saqib, teaming up with vocalist Galactic Girl for a truly unorthodox house cut. Their new track fuses a hypnotic off-beat groove with orchestral flourishes, brass and woodwind arrangements, and a circus-like flair that harks back to the label’s early releases from acts like Nôze.

The production is driven by layers of Hammond organ, trumpet, and klezmer-like clarinet lines, all set against a waltzy, Eastern European–inspired rhythm. Blending synth wave, pop, alternative, and cosmic textures into her own otherworldly aesthetic, she brings a magnetic vocal energy that amplifies the track’s theatrical atmosphere. As co-founder of Muse NYC, she’s also an active contributor to the creative culture of her city.

Berlin legend Marco Resmann returns to Poker Flat Recordings with the Olympia EP - four tracks of his signature finely-crafted house music. Resmann’s status within the house and techno scene is well established, and these tracks emphasize why he’s so respected as a DJ, producer and label owner. 

First on the winner's podium is 'Olympia' - a  firing tech house monster with acidic undertones and a crisp, driving rhythm section.

'Discus' also hits the mark - a bubbling, trippy roller that layers precise percussion over evolving, unwinding bass grooves and synth explorations.

'Equal' is up next - maintaining Resmann’s reputation for total understanding of dancefloor dynamics - the tension is kept constant via the balancing of tightly wound melodic loops, bubbling acid and compact drums.

Closing out the EP - 'Javelin' takes flight with a tough tech workout, flexing its ample rhythmic muscle and suggesting that Resmann is in peak competitive form.
