We're delighted to welcome back Amount, aka Nayan Soukie, to Darkroom Dubs as he returns with four subterranean throbbers that effervesce with trance-inducing lawlessness. 

A Darkroom Dubs favourite who first debuted in 2013 as one-half of house-combo Soukie & Windish. Since then, he's flourished as a renowned producer, DJ, and seasoned live performer, developing a penchant for sleazy burners primed for the darkest of rooms and those hazy, sunrise-lit, after-hours moments. 

This latest offering from the Berlin native, entitled Zeroton, is an essential addition to an already impressive back catalogue, with appearances on imprints such as Feines Tier, Running Back, Frank Music and his own URSL label.

Matt' Radio Slave' Edwards and Joel Martin's critically acclaimed Quiet Village project follow-up, 2024's 'Reunion' with the Vanessa Daou collaboration, 'Naked Hunger' on September 5th, '25.

'Naked Hunger', which comes in 'Vocal Mix' and 'Spoken Word Mix' versions, sees Quiet Village employ their hypnotic sensibilities to one of house music's most tantalising vocal talents in Daou, resulting in a mid-tempo house cut that completely envelops.

While the vocal mix of 'Naked Hunger' leans into the interplay between Vanessa Daou's cosseting song voice and spoken vocals, with the rest of the track embracing a subtly dubby ethereal musicality, Quiet Village ramp up the instrumentation on the 'Spoken Vocal' version with bass guitar and piano flourishes accompanying her sultry poetic delivery.

'Naked Hunger', Daou's first collaboration with Quiet Village, marks her first release since 2019's 'Little Black Dress'.

Throughout her illustrious career, the acclaimed three-time #1 Billboard Dance Chart topper has collaborated with Danny Tenaglia, David Morales, Mood II Swing, Ralphi Rosario, Terry Farley (Farley & Heller), Charles Webster, Horse Meat Disco's Severino Panzetta, Hifi Sean, and Eli Escobar.

Friends since meeting at Goldie's legendary MetalHeadz sessions at London's Blue Note in the '90s, Quiet Village, aka Matt Edwards and Joel Martin, began releasing their brand of dubbed-out, balearic-and-beyond tracks in 2005 via NYC's Whatever We Want Records. The duo's 2008 'Silent Movie' LP was a critical smash hit that resulted in remix commissions for the likes of Bryan Ferry, The Gorillas, Leftfield, Francois K, Massive Attack and many more.

After a few years in the wilderness, unable to use their nom de plume due to contractual restrictions, the pair launched The Quiet Village label in 2024 with 'Reunion', a stunning 6/8 time urban jazz odyssey, a favourite of the likes of Luke Una, Gilles Peterson and Ryan Elliott.

Here’s a little amuse gueule for the 25th edition of our beloved TOTAL compilation series which will drop on the 10th of October. Gui Boratto has been an integral part of Kompakt’s history for a while and we’re elated to welcome him back to the fold with his latest creation “Panorama X-Press”. Gui’s incredible production prowess is fully on display here. A funky, chunky bassline paths the way for what we believe is one of the Brazilian’s wildest forays into psychedelic terrains to date. Michael Mayer, aka Mr. Lava Lava asked a bunch of his absolute favourite artists to have a go at some of the tracks from his recent album 'The Floor Is Lava'. First up is Barcelona's brightest flame, RAXON, who is melting 'Brainwave 2.0' into a stompin fun-filled primetime banger. Longtime collaborator DAVE DK is a masterful producer and remixer that appears regularly on Pampa and Kompakt. His take on 'The Solution' feels like a road trip to paradise and back. Montreal's PRIORI is one of the hottest names in showbiz right now. His ability to bridge genres and create pristine sound designs is fully on display in his remix for 'The Solution'. Last but not least, the legend that is SEBASTIAN MULLAERT took a moment off from his revered Circle Of Live jams to transform the albums deepest cut 'Ardor' into an extraordinary musical journey. Oldschool Border Community vibes in the rebound!

"You Make Me Feel" was the first outtake from Steve Bug's second Poker Flat album "Sensual". Slowly but unmistakebly building up a hypnotic groove with a rolling percussion loop, ice-cold snare and hollering vocal (reminiscent of Gainsbourg's "Bonny and Clyde"), Bug forces you flashing your sharpest dancing routines even before he throws in that distorted, take-no-prisoners, Saunderson-style organ-bassline. Flip over for another version that's served up straightened-out and stripped down yet still manages to come up with a higher percentage of FUNK. Another totally satisfying five star menu for the Poker Flat gourmet.

Our 29th Chapter showcases the versatile talents of British artist JOBE with the heavy-hitting ‘Changes’ EP.

JOBE - previously responsible for one of Chapter 24’s biggest-selling tracks ‘Aurora’ - has released as widely as Akbal Music, Connaisseur and Steyoyoke. On this occasion, he serves up a balanced four-tracker combining cosmic, afro and techno influences.

‘Rafari’ is the opener. Marked by characterful sound design and swirling disembodied tribal voices creating a strong sense of disorientation, the track is held together by the hefty and assured drive of the main groove.

‘Anomaly’ showcases a more considered side to JOBE’s production and marks a shift of emphasis to harmony and composition, as layers of synths swell skywards before their satisfying return to earth.

Meanwhile, ‘Boma’ is a return to the tense, cosmic afro drive that is bound to set dancefloors aflame, before title track ‘Changes’ rounds things off with a powerful slab of progressive techno.

Tim Engelhardt & BOg - ALMA 

Poker Flat go right for the jugular again with this blazing collaborative EP from the duo Tim Engelhardt (@timengelhardt) & BOg (@bogmusicoff).

Engelhardt in one of the hottest talents around, forging a hugely prolific carrier already from his home base in Cologne, Germany. Just recently Tim released his debut album 'Moments of Truth' on Poker Flat followed by a remix EP.

Teaming up with the hugely talented Bogdan Tanase (BOg) from Romania, the boys put together a strong musical statement.

'Synchronicity' sets out the stall - driving, powerful tech house with a sense of class and restraint. The energy is teased through-out the track, pulling from the tight rhythm and expressing itself with dramatic, moody synths - interwoven into a slick whole.

'Alma' also showcases the pair’s ears for dynamics - each element in the track perfectly crafted and mixed - the result is an emotional dancefloor experience that’s more than the sum of its parts.

Turning up the heat, 'Astronauts' kicks of with a thumping groove that builds and mutates across the track - resulting in a driving, powerful weapon for a multiple of situations.

Similarly, 'Celsius' fits right into this release - yet another cut of driven, melodic tech balancing primal rhythmic energy with expressive melody.
