An experiment to find out if one can record human echolocation with a binaural mic headset, so hat the person can again recognize the objects by listening via headphones.

Guiding Voices (Stem die de weg wijst)

This "city sextet" is a composition of street-chamber music performed by 6 players between 4 and 17 February 2015. 

During 6 consecutive walks, the players passed on a given score by negotiating their trajectories between each other and the city.  

The work can be listened to in any way, in any indoors setting, during a walk either in a random city or following the exact score from Oude Kraan 76 in Arnhem. 32 minutes / 2 km.

Guiding Voices (Stem die de weg wijst)

This "city sextet" is a composition of street-chamber music performed by 6 players on May 19 2015.

During 5 consecutive walks, the players passed on a given score by negotiating their trajectories between each other and the city.

In this version of The Guiding Voices the confusion is prominent. The mediation of a trajectory through the act of speech becomes a highly improvisational performance.

With Myra Emmen Riedel, Jiska Hansen, Yara de Graaf, Joanne Verhaagen, Boris Lyppens, Lisanne Meijers and the support of Dafne Wijnbergh, Lida Ladwig and Michiel Koelink.

Digital location trackers are part of our daily life, we don’t even pay attention. But what if the location trackers were real people? How would that influence your idea of space, private space and public space?

This project was premiered in the exhibition From Bits to Paper, 2016.

Droit De Suite -Tribute To Sophie Calle

A sound recording made at an artificial waterfall in the small river Berkel in the east of the Netherlands. The microphones are placed 1.5 meters apart, a distance that has become so meaningful these days. 

The recording offers a way to enjoy and embrace this space. The sound is very soothing and relaxing. 

At the end of the recording, a father with three children arrives. It's March 25 2020; the schools just closed,  because of the Corona Crises. They need to be occupied and the artificial waterfall is a great place to play. You can barely hear it, but the father warns his kids: they have to keep their distance from other people.
