Dancing, for me, is primitive escapism at its finest. The raw reaction to move your body along to a rhythm, combined with the unified energy of everyone else doing it around you totally elevates the experience and makes you connect with complete strangers in an amazing way. It’s a universal language that everyone can speak.

Coming out of Malmö, Sweden Bolam has been churning out an exciting array of productions in recent years. From slamming slices of breaks-infused electro to bass-driven club edits he has built a varied-yet-focused collection of tracks, releasing on various labels such as Lobster Theramin and Hâws alongside highly regarded vinyl releases on Space Dust, a newly launched sub-label of Alien Communications. Fo his POLAR mix he has delivered a clean blend showcasing his current taste working through an hour of rolling-house and minimal tracks, then onto a burst of broken energy pumped into modern club bangers.

As part of the Kindred store/radio crew, the young London-based art student, Jake Walker has been pushing himself through various circles to be one of the capitols' most exciting selectors. With an acquired taste for the soundscapes accustomed to those early morning hour sessions, Jake delivers a mix for a dancefloor that is ready for the music to start getting weird and wonderful. Starting with the type of sound you'd expect at an after-hours forest knees-up, and it ends with what you'd dream of in a dark sweaty warehouse.

What does dancing mean to you?

Dancing is about communicating. You react to what the music, the artist says to you and you communicate to others how you feel. You also speak to the universe. I do believe in energies, power will and creative visualization. I think the energy you throw in the universe gets back to you at some point so dancing is very important to me. It’s communicative and does elevate souls collectively. It’s to me a tool to let go and reach euphoria naturally. Not dancing for a month made me realize how the movement was so important and connected to your state of mind. Seeing hundreds of people moving all together around the same emotion it is kind of magical, it’s joy at it’s highest vibration. Collective vibrations is how you create positive energy on earth.

Banoffee Pies Records 16th Original Series release comes via a 4 track 
Split EP collaboration between Kincaid, and Zenzizenz, the ambient moniker of techno producer Viers. After a long year behind us, and likely ahead, this record takes a temporary step into the calm and adds reflection to the blurred months that passed. 

The release is a collection of textural bumps and melodies opening with Kincaid’s 9 minute “Slow Stumble Home” - an aptly titled down tempo trip through a confused space, layered with composition, like a Playstation home screen theme on Mushrooms. Calm follows with two tracks from Zenzizenz - “Returning From Home”, a steady meditation through rumbling sounds soon shift to a new mood on the B side. “Falling Off” offers a more lethargic wandering through the marshland before BP016 comes to it’s close with “Single Cell”, the 2nd Kincaid track, which concludes with a chaptered 4x4 structure and slow bursts of energy within. Time to absorb. Love BP x
