A flawless night we huddle close
Flames from coal wish to entertain us
Speak to us whispering songs
Holding on to thoughts along
The gaps between where you have gone

And mindless games where we once played
Corroding sight increasing might
Of foes that face our forces tonight
Eager to fight and take our peace
Fortress raids to claim our space
We watch as they invade our minds
Brake through the lines of our own kind
Collapsing under the cloudy skies
We’ve failed to fortify in time
But I’d still rather try and die
Than hear the piercing cries nearby
