A new figure sashays its way into Bordello. In one hand, a bouquet of carnations, in the other, a 12” record. Lauer. Philipp Lauer. Known for his incredible productions on labels like Running Back and Permanent Vacation, not to mention his collaborations, the German all-around good guy delivers four gems. The title piece radiates warmth, clean drum patterns giving way to beaming synth bars with vocoder lyrics bopping to the bass. Light hi-hats and a wet snare are the fertile ground from which choral key shifts break to squelching acid in this addictively diverse work. The energy levels spike, like a cork spearing its way from a champagne bottle, for the unbridled enthusiasm of “Frizzante”. Piano stabs, pulsating percussion and an infectious groove. The Summer sun may have set, but Lauer is still at the “Playa” with his playful finale. An off-kilter melody ebbs and flows on a string of rhythms, dreamy tongue-in-cheek synth play sailing this 12” off to the horizon.

On Polari 016, Cormac invites Ready in LED, an electronic project from Kyiv, Ukraine by Olya Dibrova to release on his multidisciplinary Polari imprint.

It‘s with real excitement that I welcome Olya, Ready in LED to the Polari family. I've been in awe of her talent for sometime and am truly excited to present her music. - says Cormac.

The upcoming release, a digital single titled "Runaway," is set to be released on May 26th and will feature an extended version of the track as well as a remix by Chinaski.

Ready in LED explains the atmospherics of the single - “This is a story of a woman who has just gone through a breakup. She gets behind the wheel and drives away from the city, which is full of memories and flashbacks. There’s only her, the road, and the darkness of the night. It’s a lost highway and she drives towards self-discovery.”

"Runaway" is a melodious and heartfelt journey that incorporates driving vocals, making it perfect for both the club and a solitary drive through the night.

Ready In LED - Runaway (Chinaski's San Fran '81 Remix)

After his seminal release, ‘Kaunas is the New London’, Lithuanian visionary Ton Globiter returns to Wrong Era with ‘Zur Xtasy’, an emotive, intelligent dancefloor gem. Once again, binding the Acid and Proto realms with elegant innovation. His signature metallic vocals rip throughout each track, accentuating the record’s enticing energy. ‘Yaze Gaze’ propels you into Globiter’s unmistakable percussion and flawless arpeggiated acid hooks. 
The slick  ‘French Line’ displays an innate gift for integrating his distinctive style into genre-bending production. Tasteful nods to late 90s breaks and Chicago-house sit within the depths of ‘Zur Xtasy’s’ tantalizing world. The endlessly infectious acidic flow of ‘Schweiß’ throws you into a mesmeric peak time hit where commanding vocals slice through. From beginning to end, ‘Zur Xtasy’ solidifies Globiters' ability to amaze consistently, pushing sonic boundaries with captivating, masterful skill.

An all-Spanish affair, this one: Pumuki (David Campos Torres) hails from Madrid and has a musical background spanning techno, minimal and electroclash, while Calystarr (Adrian Pena Sanchez) is a native of Cadiz and cites influences including new beat, Italo, EBM and indie-dance. Such inspiration can clearly be heard on the four tracks that make up the 'Retroiluminate' EP, with the title track sitting on the Italo/techno/prog cusp, 'Close Your Eyes' bringing the mid-80s dark Euro vibes, 'Lucas De Leon' throwing some proto-house drum programming into the mix and 'Corvette' adding guitars and a dose of indie attitude. All four should go down well on floors that like their disco dark, electronic and 80s-leaning.

Detroitalo merges the best of both worlds - Detroit and Italo. The proclamation of an entirely new genre is accompanied by Bungalo Disco`s latest outing - the Detroitalo EP. Italo Brutalo`s latest masterpiece on your favorite label.
Detroit stands for innovation and its unique character - always several steps ahead. In contrary `Italo Disco` songs are simple, basic and catchy - and therefore appealing to the masses. Combining these two genres might feel like inbreeding of the most severe degree :
It ́s so obvious and at the same time so unimaginable. It almost feels like two lovers who had been at war for generations and now -after reconciliation- have the urge to finally let go their mutual desire.
All songs on this release are legitimate descendents of Italo Disco and Detroit Techno. Starting off with "La Bambola" which can literally be called the big sister of the Detroitalo offspring, it ́s gripping arpeggio line leaves nothing to be desired and instantly indicates in which direction Detroitalo is heading. The record`s second and eponymously named track perfectly reflects the new style with its restless bassline. More Detroitalo siblings are to be found on the flipside of the release. "Down the Drain" with its acid elements and techno-ish Italo arpeggio, sounds like it was directly transferred from the 80ies to the year 2020 and far beyond. Ultimately, you can get a glimpse of what driving in the "Motor City" looks like. On the one hand stop-and-go-traffic on the other speeding through endless alleys of the grim and bleak City of Detroit. A murky bassline combined with apocalyptic strings and effects set the perfect mood for rollin through the D at nighttime.
