Ever since I have seen the Arnolfini Portrait by van Eyck in the National Gallery in London, I am puzzled with the convex mirror in the middle. It's a perfect fish eye mirror (we are in the year 1434 here). Who are those people in the back watching the couple?

Wow, how much I hate the Sinatra version of Unforgettable! Last month during dinner in a lakeside hotel near Helsinki, they played it as background music. Soon we have realized it was the only song they played that evening over and over again. The beautiful waitress told us she considers asking for a raise because of that. Next morning they played it for breakfast too. That song was one of my favorites before visiting Finland.

At 1 minute 18 seconds this one turned into something completely different. There is a reason film score composers are creating themes for different characters in a movie. People, places, concepts do have a strong power to evoke music. Four measures at 1:18 are a character theme I have since 2002 that just bursted into this improvisation, all because of a phone call couple of hours earlier. It made me slow down and stop, but it all turned out well.

Let's get one thing out of the way right up front: I am not a professional piano player. Far from it.

The piano pieces you hear are improvisations I am creating in maximum 15 minutes from idea to final track ready for upload.

The Opus numbers represent the actual recording order (snobblesse oblige).

After digital recording starts an extensive post production process, sometimes referred to as cheating. I have allowed myself to remove maximum 5 (that is five) notes from the recording to conceal outrageous errors, but conveniently keep utterly disturbing imperfections. No tempo, rhythm, pitch and volume changes are allowed.
