The island of Mugarrirantz sat perched above the bright blue water. The waves rolled softly against it's golden sandy beaches and the glimmer of green palm trees shone under the light of the startling sunlight. A boat approached in the morning breeze, the white sails floating dreamily as it rode above the waves. A beautiful woman stood on the pier awaiting the return of her man, he had been gone for so so long but finally he was now home at last. 

Back in 2014 El_Txef_A released an album for Fiakun titled "We Walked Home Together". Since then there has been several remixed versions of tracks from the album with artists such as The Black Madonna, Lake People and more. Rising talent Tibi Dabo, aka Max Guardans, brings his distinct and eloquent production to Rebellion this Summer with two tracks that will set dance floors alight across the globe. 

Title track La Dorada creates a brooding atmosphere with synths that weave together over industrial drum pads and an intricate, twinkling melody that descends into a crescendo of percussion. No Mantra adds a touch of elegance, with sparkling drum patterns and dreamy keys. Tibi Dabo ​explains that the title track is also the “the name of my childhood home near Barcelona”. By connecting his music and his hometown, or “safe space” as he calls it, he says he “can personally feel a close relationship between the two”. 

Tibi Dabo emerged on the scene with his first release Ende, picked up by Sasha and signed to his renowned imprint, Last Night On Earth. Having made the move from his home of Barcelona to the musical mecca of Berlin, Tibi Dabo creates infectious soundscapes that showcase his ability to conjure up music that plays out an abstract story. Tibi Dabo - No Mantra

I went pretty minimal on this one, no hi-hats, and pretty much no drums actually, just a kick and much later into the track a snare comes in.....There was something about the simple repetitive 2 note melody hits and chords I landed on that just seemed to work without needing anything much else, well hopefully it works for other people too and not just me. It's been going down really well in the clubs at least, it seems to make people clap for some reason, maybe because it's so simple and kick focused rhythmically, it's got a bit of a marching stomp feel.

I stripped out most of the parts from the original, and focused on the great pads and vocal sweeps, which seemed to lead to the melodic idea somehow. It was one of those remixes which flowed nice and easily, not too much conscious thought required, I just let it flow out.
