//Was bedeutet deine Musik für dich?//

Aufzulegen bedeutet für mich pures Empowerment. Es ist immer wieder eine sehr persönliche Challenge: mich zu trauen, mir Raum zu nehmen, mich nicht so sehr von den Erwartungen der Anderen leiten zu lassen, kontinuierlich an meinen Skills zu arbeiten, fair und geduldig mit mir selbst zu bleiben und so vieles mehr. Ich glaube es hat schon viel Gutes mit mir und meiner Selbstwahrnehmung gemacht. :,)
Die Musik, die ich liebe, hilft mir auch total dabei nah bei mir zu sein. Ich kann meine Gefühle zulassen und direkt heraus-tanzen, das ist immer wieder sehr befreiend. Zum Beispiel mal ungefiltert laut und wütend sein, das fällt mir sonst schwer.

//Woher nimmst du deine Inspiration?//

Mich inspirieren andere FLINTA*, die auf Genre, vermeintliche Regeln und Erwartungen beim Auflegen oder Produzieren scheißen. Die sich trauen zu spielen was sie wollen, die selbstbewusst und authentisch Musik machen und an den Decks stehen. Und mich inspirieren Orte und Veranstaltungen, an denen die Menschen rücksichtsvoll miteinander sind. Nirgends ist die Stimmung so gut wie da, wo sich alle wohl und frei fühlen können.

//Was muss sich deiner Meinung nach an der Szene ändern?//

Gäbe es nicht ein paar wundervolle   Menschen, die mich immer wieder motiviert und gepushed haben, hätte ich weiter „nur“ Partys bzw. das anstrengende Drumherum organisiert und mich still geärgert, dass die Typen am Pult alle Aufmerksamkeit und Anerkennung bekommen. Ich wünsche mir, dass vor allem die cis-männlichen DJ ́s sich nicht nur selbst abkulten, sondern anderen (vielleicht weniger selbstbewussten) Menschen den Raum überlassen und ihre Skills gerne teilen. Ich wünsche mir auch eine vielfältigere und freundlichere Musik- und Clubkultur, dafür müssen auf jeden Fall mehr FLINTA*, Queers und PoC an die Decks.

I have invited @yungfya to EOS radio. Finding her bass family through Femme Bass Mafia, she performed a killer debut on HÖR which landed her a well deserved following in the scene. She continues to break order and get dancers bouncing in dirty basements and Berlin's most cherished clubs.
After years of exploring Berlin's infamous dance clubs, yungfya took to the decks herself with a mission to bring in deeper grimier styles of electro to club floors - a mood she knows all too well from her London street upbringing and overwhelming love for drum & bass. 

Yungfya's playfully aggressive yet atmospheric sound is daringly unpredictable -  A tasteful collision of diverse realms, spun together with cohesive elegance. Through music she aims to highlight the inevitable evolution of breaking boundaries between genre, class and timelines.

Im Sommer 2022 haben wir die GlutenfreeGhettoGirlz zum ersten Mal im bei ihrem Sektor Debut gespottet und konnten 4h nicht aufhören zu tanzen. DJ BIRCH was born in Halle (Saale), grew up in a little village close to Halle and at the age of 18 she left her parents’ place. Since then, she has been living in Leipzig, California, Finland, British Columbia and Singapore. In 2020 she moved back to her hometown.

In 2014 she started her path as a DJ. In her childhood, she played in an accordion orchestra, sang in a choir and went to clubs as often as she could and as often as her fake ID went through; mainly in Halle, Leipzig and California, sometimes Berlin.

Her sound can be described as frisky, depending on the context. It's warmly energetic, sensual, mad, provocative and she plays various genres between 70 and 160 bpm.

So far she provided the crowds at Conne Island, Charles Bronson, Endlos, Koralle, Fusion Festival and TARMAC with her sets!

By the way, she also curates the @featfem podcast series for FLINTA* artists and the event series SLOTS (at Pierre Grasse, Halle) for FLINTA*, up-and-coming artists and/or music genres alongside the mainstream. Feel free to get in touch if you’re interested in contributing!
