Raw Main is a multifaceted artist, musician, DJ and sound designer. He is the next artist to hit strong the dancefloors, with numerous releases to come on key labels; planning 2021 and 2022 almost full of releases. Goals to spread his sound all around the world, get to discover new cultures and habits, and later build his own imprint, and his own musical event. He partially takes inspiration from his origins to transcribe his vision of music – which might be ethnic, electronic or belonging to a completely different genre. Whatever the sound is, Raw Main’s purpose is to take you on a trip, for the duration of a track or a whole set. Forget about samples... He’s all about live performances.

A former protégée of the highly respected British DJ John Digweed, Pole Folder entered the limelight in 2001 as a DJ and producer at the forefront of the European progressive house movement, and has since evolved into a multi-instrumentalist and live performer of melodic-driven techno, tech house and deep house. His critically acclaimed music has been released on some of electronic music's most prestigious record labels including Global Underground and Renaissance, as well as on Bedrock Records, which put out his best sellers 'Apollo Vibes' (2001) and 'Dust' (2003). Both were co-produced alongside renowned Belgian DJ CP. In 2003, Digweed commissioned Pole Folder's debut artist album 'Zero Gold', and two years later it was released to worldwide praise from the electronic music media, including Resident Advisor, who gave it a 4.5/5 and described it as "delicate atmospheric...musically rich...and one of those timeless pieces of music." Several 'Zero Gold' tracks such as 'Faith In Me' with vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw and 'Salvation On Slavery Sins' have featured on hit US TV shows including Nip/Tuck and CSI, and Pole Folder and CP's 'Apollo Vibes' was featured in the movie 'Stark Raving Mad', with 'Dust' used as the backing music for Channel 4's advertising campaign in the U.K.. Since 2003, Pole Folder has toured globally as a DJ and a live performer. His live shows aim to recreate the intricate and precise studio processes behind his music in a club environment, with synthesizers, mixing desks, FX boxes, laptops, and live vocalists fashioned by Pole Folder into a succinct club sound. He also plays guitar, synths, and trumpet, skills that he acquired during a long musical education that began at the age of 5. In 2006, Pole Folder launched 'Destinations' on Frisky Radio, a show that was recorded live at various gigs worldwide. It garnered a huge following and led Frisky to ask Pole Folder to recreate this concept live in the studio for his first compilation, 'Destinations', which utilised both his regular Pioneer DJ set up, and a number of live instruments. After a couple of label experiments (La Tour, 80Hz), Pole Folder launched his own record label Reworck in 2010. The imprint represents a new dawn for Pole Folder as an artist. With his sound having evolved into the more melodic fringes of techno, tech house, and deep house, and his gigs focused solely on live performances, Reworck embodies his new sound, his wealth of musical expertise, and passion for intense, soul-touching, dance music.

DHT Podcast 108 - Mass Digital

I am so grateful to Robot Heart for inviting me to perform this set which was without doubt one of the most memorable experiences of my life. 

A few years ago, I was dancing as the sun rose over Robot Heart in total wonderment, in a state of total inspiration. During lockdown I recalled that feeling and got to work on two albums, Yin, a classical record and Yang an electronic one. 

Writing these two albums was my therapy during the pandemic, dreaming of a day I could connect with people again on the Playa. It’s just so wild, that the fantasy came true in the best way possible and I got to perform this set, transitioning from Yin to Yang with a special arrangement for the Robot Heart Sunset, opening with about 20 minutes of piano and sound bowls before the electronic beats kick in. 

In order to play the piano live here, I had my beloved Steinway sampled into a virtual instrument and it was a real thrill to be able to play with that sound on the playa!

Yin and Yang were recorded in 432 Hz tuning and are musical expressions of my musings about life, the universe and infinite consciousness. 

I’ve always been fascinated by this quote by William Blake, and it was ringing through my mind the whole of the Freeburn week, and especially during this performance. 

He wrote: “If the doors of perception were cleansed every thing would appear to man as it is, Infinite. For man has closed himself up, till he sees all things thro' narrow chinks of his cavern.” 

The view from atop the Robot Heart bus warmed my heart, the doors of perception were being cleansed by the beautiful souls in front of me, and I am infinitely grateful. 🙏🏽

You pay attention when industry heavyweights like Sasha and Guy J name check an artist as a potential ‘one to watch'... and Khen is definitely worthy of that.

Through a consistent stream of high quality releases on labels like microCastle, Lost & Found, Sudbeat, Bedrock and Vivrant, the Tel Aviv-native has earned himself a rightful place as an equal in the the group of highly talented artists coming from his home country of Israel (Guy J, Mantzur, Shlomi Aber, Sahar Z). The fans have showed their support too, his ‘One Day of Independence’ debut LP on said Lost & Found went on to peak at number 1 on the Beatport top 100 progressive and overall releases charts. And his tour dairy is becoming increasingly busier, booking requests filtering in from all corners from the globe.

There is a lot to like about this podcast, from his own productions to tracks from artists like past Balance Selections compliers Stelios Vassiloudis, BOg and Guy Mantzur, all flawlessly presented in way that should win over a lot of listeners.

Those who have been in and around the dance music scene for any given amount of time, have definitely come across the name of Kasey Taylor. Not only did he compile the second Balance Series compilation, but to date, his career resume is an impressive read, ticking off gigs and residencies at almost every big show and club in his native Melbourne, before he moved to Portugal for a ten-year stint which included shows across the globe.  Now in his 32nd year of DJing, Kasey’s career began in earnest in 1996 when he managed to impress John Digweed during a warm-up set leading him to invite Kasey to play at his monthly Bedrock night at Heaven in London.

  For over two decades Kasey has had the luxury of releasing music on his label ‘Vapour Recordings’, which is 150 releases deep. In 2004 Kasey started eVapour8, the first release going on to become number 1 on the Beatport Techno charts for eight weeks and number 1 on the main charts for a month. After taking some personal time away from the scene and a four-year break from running Vapour Recordings, the label has just been rebranded along with a new website which will be relaunched around mid-2019.  

As if he isn’t busy enough, after moving to Australia in 2013 he started a new label Lo-Fi 45, and it is already showing signs of treading the same successful path of his previous imprints. The label has a focus on new and exciting talent, which sees Taylor taking on more of a mentor role too, by signing promising locals like Lask and Peruw, seeing them sit alongside productions from seasoned producers like Jamie Stevens and Kasey himself. Kasey is currently in the studio whipping up lots of new releases for Vapour Recordings and remixes for Lo-Fi-45. Watch out for new material which should be released very soon.  Kasey’s Vapourized podcast will also be back in 2019 with a rebrand and fresh new look.  

At Rainbow Serpent festival this year Kasey was booked to play on the Market Stage to an appreciative crowd of thousands. If you missed the set or would like to relive the moment, sit back and press play, we have the full two-hour recording for your entertainment. It was not only a special set for the many who witnessed it, but it was also a watershed moment for Kasey himself:   

‘My podcast for Balance is my recent set from Rainbow Serpent Festival. It’s been a while since I played on Market Stage and it was awesome of Rainbow Serpent to give me a cracker time to announce my comeback after a break for 2/3 years for personal reasons. I put a lot of love and threw everything at this one and it was a bit different to what people expected I think, in a good way. It was a fantastic afternoon and the reception was incredible and I cant thank everyone enough who was there in support.’

Larry Heard, born 1960, is a musician widely known for the Chicago house music he produced in the mid-1980s and continues to produce today. 
He was a member of the influential group Fingers, Inc. and has recorded solo under various names, most notably Mr. Fingers. His smooth production style with soulful vocals and long instrumental passages that de-emphasized percussion spearheaded the subgenre known as deep house. One of his first releases was a collaboration with singer Robert Owens, released under the group name ‘Fingers Inc.’. The song ‘Mystery of Love’ instantly became a classic hit, rising to #10 on the Billboard Dance charts. Larry Heard's musical influence can be heard in the songs of countless artists. For those who appreciate warm and passionate compositions, Larry's music is pure magic. He has been blessed with a unique gift that sends listeners into a blissful euphoric state.
