Der musikalische Feingeist Lee aka PLTX meldet sich mit einer EP auf UTM-Records zurück. „Silver Linings“ ist unsere Katalognummer 55 und mutet ähnlich wie diese Schnapszahl an wie zwei Seiten einer Medaille. Dabei ist der Einstieg und gleichzeitig titelgebende Track eine für uns erst einmal untypische deepe Nummer in den stilistischen Breiten zwischen Halfstep und Dubstep. Dabei wird der Track durch die Vocals von Künstlerin Kaja erweitert, deren Stimme auf der EP noch zwei weitere Male zu hören ist. Sie arbeitete bereits mit Producern wie Airglo oder den Berliner Labelkollegen Tarma & Magmot zusammen. Bevor sich Lee jedenfalls auf DnB-Tempo begibt, ertönen Kajas Vocals auf dem Breaks-Track „Street Lights“. Die andere Seite der Medaille teilen sich die beiden Versionen des DnB-Tracks „Wash Away“. Einmal als Vocal-Variante mit Kaja und zum anderen als Instrumental. Drei unterschiedliche Tempi auf einer EP von PLTX, der seine Klangästhetik-Fühler somit hier in ganz verschiedene Richtungen ausstreckt.

The musical genius Lee aka PLTX is back with an EP on UTM-Records. “Silver Linings” is our catalog number 55 and, like this repdigit, looks like two sides of a coin. The introduction and at the same time eponymous track is a deep number in the stylistic widths between Halfstep and Dubstep, which is pretty untypical for us. The track is enhanced by the vocals of artist Kaja, whose voice can be heard twice more on the EP. She has already worked with producers such as Airglo or Berlin label colleagues Tarma & Magmot. Anyway, before Lee gets up to DnB tempo, Kaja’s vocals ring out on the Breaks track “Street Lights”. The two versions of the DnB track “Wash Away” share the other side of the coin. One as a vocal variant with Kaja and the other as an instrumental. Three different tempos on an EP by PLTX, which stretches its sound aesthetic feelers in completely different directions.
