CONCEPTUAL is the musical journey of Berlin based producer Simone Scardino, a sci fi techno specialist well seasoned with releases on the best scientific labels out there. His approach on techno comes apart from trends and superficiality, it always has an underlying message and it’s made with detail and intelligence.
 
This extended EP is not for the faint hearted, it requires some knowledge about intrincated soundscapes and requires attention and long term vision to capture the feeling properly. It can be completely beatless and atmospheric as the open title Ninna Nanna For Bad Children or super rhythmic like Me Medesimo where broken and bass heavy beats combine with elaborated textures exquisitely sound designed to cause the required damage on the dancefloor.
 
Højer is traversing similar terrain, but this time based on a 4/4 beat, rugged and distorted, metallic and industrial, a no mercy weapon for the darkest sound spaces.
 
On the B side, Not An Easy One gives another ration of proper non conventional dancefloor action, again with a well balanced combination of groove and texture.
 
 I Always Feel Like Somebody’s Watching Me closes the release changing the approach completely going hypnotic instead of muscular, with a complex drum work spiced with super-treated synth lines in constant change.
 
The sound of the future experienced today, made by a visionary.

The master of dynamic modular synthesis returns strongly to Polegroup and with nothing less than a complete album under his belt. Alberto Pascual defines with his alter ego Ribé what contemporary techno should be, direct, precise, aggressive and mental all in one.
 
In these twelve cuts that make up his new album, the producer based in the mountains of Madrid puts into operation all his knowledge of electronic machinery to develop a discourse that bears his own signature and places him among the greatest exponents of peninsular techno at the moment.
 
Unlike previous works, this time we can perceive greater harmonic and emotional content in his productions, as can be heard in the first of the album's songs, which also gives the title to the double vinyl. Here the floating synthetic strings are combined with rhythms borrowed from the motor city in an exquisite way.
 
But things quickly change context in the second of the exercises, La Rabia, whose title perfectly defines the sensations perceived when listening. Here the roots in the British tradition are clear but always under the personal prism that he always brings to his inimitable works.
 
The extreme sounds continue in Itinerario sin Click and when we are hot, we return to calm with El Sutil Arte, where crunchy textures and broken rhythms combine to create an experimental and corrosive theme, but relaxing at the same time.
 
Ellas pick up the pulse slowly, with precision scifi details to give way to El Sigilo, which definitely sounds like the best of the Birmingham sound.
100215 returns to outer space and galactic funk as a prelude to El Nuevo Mundo, a superlative exercise in emotional electronica.
 
Inercia returns to the frenetic dance and the machine slows down again in El Aire, dragging and dense the concept, flirting with the industrial sound of the pioneers of the genre.
 
The end of the sound journey is approaching with one of the most outstanding pieces of the album, Avenidas, which is a perfect minimalist tool for risky mixes.
 
We Finish the trip with El Entusiasmo, a perfect techno anthem with all the necessary ingredients to demolish any qualified dance floor.

The time has finally come to have Kwartz in this house again and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the quality of the work he has delivered. It is clear that his new residency at the best techno club on the planet, Berghain, has helped his inspiration multiply exponentially and this is definitely reflected in this brand new work that leaves us wanting more.

Four slices of techno with all the letters, which define exactly what the genre should be without seasonal additives, dynamic electronic dance music, without an expiration date, which could be signed thirty years ago or in the distant future.

Mario does not entertain himself with extreme speeds, nor with predictable developments, nor with pre-cooked sounds. His approach to musical creation is slow and artisanal, meditating and maturing each of the ingredients he uses, without fear of being left out of the media radar.

This entire procedure is reflected in the excellent result, The Golden Hour is a perfect example of everything said above. Strong and firm rhythms, constantly evolving arrangements, elaborate sound design and a firm dance attitude.

Enter The Zone turns the rhythm towards broken bass drums, slightly presses the accelerator and introduces disturbing atmospheres combined with organic percussion details in a masterful way. A true catalyst for expert mixers.

On side B, Under Control once again breaks tradition with a broken, hypnotic and continuous rhythm, a first-rate brain driller for the club's peak moments.

The EP ends with Animal Instinct, which does not lower the intensity one bit, adding an overwhelming rhythm with dynamic percussive details, with no room for rest, perfect for the dancers to travel to unknown dimensions.

Berlin based producer CONCEPTUAL is back home after his Not an easy one Ep, again providing his own vision on techno, full of sonic landscapes, detail and intelligence.

Release starts with Approach slowly a brief atmospheric intro that sets the pace for what comes next in Il silenzio degli innocenti introducing the rhythmic pulse from the first bar with almost all elements into he equation, this is a minimalistic tool where percussive elements evolve in a subtle manner all over the arrangement.

No more excuses continues in the mood, adding more spice to the formula with reverberated details, growing mental sequences and the usual complex groove. Intense and mental all in one.

Sand fury follows, with atmospheres colliding with rugged components, evolving all together in a progressive arrangement, a superb tool to enhance your mixes properly.

Valentín Corujo belongs to the main core of our label since forever, alone as Kessell and also as part of his Exium project. 

Through his long spanning career he has developed an own signature in sound, combining the rude industrial approach from Birmingham roots with the soul of the american foundations. Using his machinery as a vehicle to transmit his own vision on techno.

His sonic speech is always personal and aside of trends, using distortion as a weapon, creating solid and mental tools for the most advanced club environments.

This new EP makes no difference, four cuts of raw and intricate hypnosis without compromise.

Savage Garden sums up all being said before, a busy drum workout, the necessary amount of distortion and the complexity needed for your head to be abducted.

On Hidden Echoes speed rises, the rhythm is more intense, and the repetitive synth motifs grow and mutate, piercing your cortex as the arrangement flows.

B side starts with Seeing Beyond a robust groover with an asymmetric scifi touch on top spiced with drones and atmosphere floating over the complex structure.

Oscar Mulero returns to homebase with this intense four tracker that means a return to direct dancefloor weapons after the scifi and mental approach of his late works. Although being intense and direct, these exercises keep the abstraction and intelligence that techno is supposed to have since its inception. 

The body is the perfect example of this physical but complex approach, direct and gymnastic pieces combine in a constantly moving and evolving arrangement, full of twists and subtle changes but preserving the groove in every second.

Like a black rainbow uses a drilling bleep to perforate your inner ear while 909 shuffled hats provide the pulse required to move ahead. The bleepy thing evolves in frequency and the groove goes busier as time goes by, resulting in a mind bending experience.

On the flip side, Golden dome uses asymmetrical sequences as the main course, helped with micro drones to improve the otherworldly feel, as usual, the elements come back and forth wisely administered to provide the required danceable energy.

Closing the record things change drastically in Sacred place introducing unusual cadences on the rhythm and sequences, a futuristic march of robots maybe a nice image to confront with the sounds. Not everybody is capable of working with such a groove. Definitely the highlight of this collection.

As a bonus track for the digital edition, A subtle physical sphere, a galactic sound adventure , profound and abstract, a sound voyage into the realms of unconsciousness.

Blix builds his Energy States in the Vacuum EP
on a choir of drones, arranging their voices in a multitude of dephased layers in order to create a sort of robotic melody. 
Intensity rises to an almost delusional state with the adrenaline power of the kick-drum. 
The result is a solid 2-track EP of hypnotic, racing techno -- not for the faint of heart.
