Both ‚Kochaj Mnie’ and ‚Nadal Lubie… Zycie Inaczej’ are sun-soaked and very emotive classic hip hop cuts leaning on soulful vocal chops and hazy beats, making the 7” sound like a double A side. Kito Jempere’s Fata Morgana is back on track with second remix ep off his debut album Objects. On A-side you will find proper peak time banger by Moscow based Simple Symmetry duo (famous for their releases on Glenview Records, Low Budget Family and That’s A Steal , supported by everyone from Lexx and Alexis Le-Tan to Mudd and Bradley Zero) and disco version of Typewriter by Poland based duo Ptaki (famous for their releases on The Very Polish Cut-Outs, Young Adults and they have their debut full-length album forthcoming now on Transatlantyk). On a flip u will find almost techno version of HW Whales made by Ruf Dug (famous for his Ruf Kutz label and much others releases on labels as Porn Wax and Unknown To Unknown) and Gas Station remixed by Moscow based Arsenii (he released on That’s A Steal, Glenview and others)

Kito Jempere — A2 Typewriter (Ptaki Remix) [Fata Morgana] snippet

We do like Ptaki a lot here at LYO ; in case you missed it, the duo delivered a delightful blend for our mix serie (and we even had the pleasure to play with one of its member in Manchester few weeks ago). Ptaki take another journey with Transatlantyk imprint to bring you the remixes of their well received debut album. Alongside unreleased dub from the “Przelot” sessions, you’ll find two great reworks here, both by contemporary heroes of the fast rising Polish house scene ; Eltron John and Das Komplex.
The real gem here is Eltron’s 10 minute version of “Sloneczny Pyl”, taking a whole A Side for a reason. It’s a straight up peaktime house banger destined for a summerjam status. Catchy female vocal loop from the ambient original is surrounded here by massive warm bassline running on a dubwise tip, layered tribal drums and percussions, and a few cisterns of raw, oily effects, guitar licks and pouring keyboard pads. And that enormous breakdown too... Eltron’s trademark “big room deep” vibe mixed with Ptaki’s slice of sampled psychedelia created a track that’s already a road-tested crowd favourite ! Hailing from Eastern Poland, Karol Aleksander is Warsaw-based DJ, producer and vinyl record collector. With releases on labels like Pets, Whiskey Disco and The Very Polish Cut Outs he pays homage to house and disco music. His tracks have gained support from many DJ’s from around the world and have been played on various radio stations including shows such as Boiler Room or Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space.
