I am feeling the power of the solar "3rd chakra" vibe in this mix, bringing you a melange of different genres, highlighting some disco and classic house flavors. A new song was created by layering pieces of Ghost Producer and Gulch. 
I played with the sliproll effect a little, and it isn't always successful but it succeeds in waking you up to say "I'm Back!" 
I used the wrong hot cue at least once, unfortunately merging vocals from one track to the next and missing a beautiful intro, but it's not too bad (Smooth Operator to Blind). Pretty proud of my overall presence and remembering to BREATHE deeply, USE my nervous energy, and look around my space, checking in with and describing the sensations in my body while mixing, dancing when I felt stiff. This "access points" process cracks me up a little in a good way. 

I can picture this as a late night set for an afterparty in a club in New Orleans during Jazz Fest - at the end of the daily action - and a good bowl of gumbo, and before the after-midnight shows... when everyone is ready to mix it up a little. It's partytime. The boogie is energizing and interesting, with some cheerful old favorites and some unexpected weirdness and a little darkness. During Jazz Fest in April/May, a slew of genres come to the Big Easy. I love this city's funky darkness :) 
The final track is a song close to my heart and part of my Mythic Story.
"Fire" works especially well in the 4 section as the solar plexus chakra is the fire element...with "Closed Eyes in a Dust Storm" leading us there. It reminds me of a dark, hot, dusty time in Northern California in a rather difficult situation during the wildfires. This mix helped me process some of that time, shake off the bullshit, and brought me home to beauty and the music in my own center.

Where I am at with DJing? I am gearing up to play for 2 hours / 2 sets in June at a local music hall. Public attendance of all ages. STOKED. I am also very much dreaming of taking the music on the road in my mobile SoundSystem, SPACETURTLE...for festival fun and magic, both for healing conscious dance parties and for partytime good-for-the-soul healing gigs. Thassit! (for now). You bet I'll make it down to NOLA!
