I enjoyed this thanks. I missed the discussion of memory, the act of recovery and Curtis' question of 'where did all that experience go'. It reminded me of Annie Ernaux's collective autobiography in The Years.

Its a funny charge to have made in the early part of this podcast, that Curtis conflates "the left" with liberals, where obviously the Chinese Communists are not conflated as such, nor the Black Panthers. Really, the qualifier ought to be made that perhaps the predominantly *white* AngloAmerican left are being conflated with liberals. And why not? Given the obsession Sanders, Corbyn, and the collapse of much of the far left into social democratic orbits, it could hardly be said that serious questions of power are being posed that would place them amongst radicals.
