HF: How did you find this track, any particular reason why you chose this one to edit?
Romain: I found this track in a jazz specialised record shop in Hong Kong with a bunch of other middle eastern influenced records, it couldn’t have been more random to be honest but that’s the beauty of digging for records.
I’ve tried playing it out but i felt it was just missing a little push to make it a bit nastier, to make people go nuts on the dancefloor, so a couple of weird samples, an acid bassline & some touch up later... it became mayhem material (I think).

HF: What would you do if you weren’t making music?
Romain: In my coffin sleeping for eternity.

HF: Any favourite place in town?
Romain: Toilets are my favourite place they are the only place where you can truly be yourself and alone. I came up with my beat ideas taking a dump... everybody knows that but nobody wants to admit it.

HF: What is your favourite saying?
Romain: “Common sense is not that common”

HF: Do you fear karma?
Romain: I live by it, so I don’t fear it.
“You reap what you sow” is another good expression

About the EP : 
'' Ashtar signifies for me the awakening in consciousness that is currently happening on this planet. I have been deeply involved in this for the last couple of years and I believe that in the next couple of years we will be meeting our galactic family in physical form.

Ashtar is a commander (it is a collective group of lightbeings, not one person) from the Great Brother/Sisterhood of Light, who are assisting us in this ascension process. There are various human beings who are channeling the messages that Ashtar is bringing to us in these times of awakening, to assist us and help us understand where we are coming from.

Bashar is also a group of multidimensional beings who are being channeled for a couple of decades to bring us messages about the truth of origins of humanity as well as assisting us in the ascension process that is currently happening on this planet.

I got inspired by the channelings of these beings to create this EP. Both of the tracks for me have a "happy" vibe, which for me resonate with the ascension process, as it's a process that hasn't been happening for eons and those are very special times we live in. In both of the tracks I have incorporated some vocals. The vocals in Ashtar are clear and give a positive message, along with the melodic elements which give some "extraterrestial" dimensions to the track. Bashar is one of the first solo downtempo projects I started to work on and it brings me into a peaceful, happy state, where the melodic elements again, signify a "happy" vibe. The EP is infused with energies from my side, so as to help everyone who is listening to it remember their roots and assist in this awakening process. 

I wish for everyone who feels down, lost, confused, depressed etc., that when they listen to the EP they will feel inspired, find some joy in their heart, dance, smile and "forget" about their worries for a moment. @deepfilip

"I discovered The Oddness maybe a year or so ago and soon this name kept on appearing on my soundcloud newsfeed. From remixes to amazing originals, his tracks quickly got a place in my sets. His original style, where the drum section reminds me of 80s/90s music, but then upgraded to the 21st century, accompanied with intense basslines and synths, was something I fell in love with. Needless to say I was extremely happy when he said yes when I asked him to do a remix for my EP."

About the remix by Joss Martin :
I discovered his music a couple of years ago when I found a remix that he made that I resonated a lot with. I sent him a message, we started talking, I invited him to play at a festival in Holland in 2018 and the connection between us clicked immediately, on a soul to soul level. Then he invited me to play in Mexico at a party of his in January 2019 + he hosted me in his house. I found out that Joss is not only a talented artist in terms of music, but also incredibly talented photographer, cook, party organizer and host, with whom I have spent a great time. I already knew that I wanted to work together with him musically so he was the first person I thought of to create a remix for this EP and it means a lot to me that he said yes and will be part of this EP. @deepfilip

Signed by Belgian rising talent Strapontin and including remixes by Damon Jee and Thomass Jackson, 10th Hard Fist release is on the way. ‘The End of Logic’, as the title says, is an ode to nonsense for the pleasure of absurdity that strongly echoes today’s context: a world going mad.
 
Being the first vinyl EP of Strapontin, the music here is a solution to escape the widespread pessimism and an injunction to look for happiness. Strapontin flies over a not right-thinking society with derision. More clubby as ever, the record also has something very unusual, a frenetic pace which always comes when we do not expect it.
 
To emphasize the senselessness, the multi-talented artist created with his boyfriend Yvan Megal a video game: ‘Nervous Days’ which is the first track of the EP. The game is a mad rush for virtual recognition, underscoring people's egocentricity.
 
The strong singularity in this piece comes from the cross-disciplinary skills of Patrick Belmont aka Strapontin who is a visual artist, a performer and a producer. He started to release music under Strapontin in 2014 after spending 15 years learning music and studying fine art. Dark can be fun, disco can be sad, violence can be pleasant. Strapontin is not a man afraid of trying new things. Signed to the labels Optimo, I’m A Cliché, la Belle or Nein Records, the Belgian artist has crafted his own style located somewhere in an unknown land between post punk, tribal downtempo and dark disco. With heavy, sensual beats, other-worldly vocals and cavernous basslines, his view of music is adventurous and mindful with a taste of queerness. You probably have caught him lately remixing Karpov Not Kasparov, Golden Bug, Vox Low or brilliantly editing bombs for I’m A Cliché. He’s also part of different dance collectives, usually working as a soundtrack composer, which has influenced his uncompromising music for years. 
With ‘The End of Logic’ Hard Fist signs here his most mature project since it started 3 years ago. This felt like an opportunity for a new artwork collaboration with a cover signed by the Paris-based illustrator Leo Marsal who introduced his own extravagance (with color!) in the Hard Fist universe.

Straighter, Harder, Faster... made to kill the dance floor. Figurehead of the Dark Disco mouvement, Damon Jee takes the EBM and industrial influence of Strapontin’s original to build this monster dancing tool.
