Polychrome Audio co-founders Noord Loop are kicking off the Polychrome Radio mix series with an eclectic set that exhibits some of the duo’s main inspirations. A subtle mix of up and coming talents the label keeps tabs on and  well established artists they look up to. Expect a cosmic ride through various genres and tracks ranging from hypnotic Techno grooves to after hour tunes.

Polychrome Radio - Episode 1 - Noord Loop

We have the pleasure of inviting up and coming Scottish talent Liam Binnie for this second instalment of Polychrome Radio. 

As co-founder of the Creeled collective and platform, Liam has started making a name for himself in the Amsterdam club scene as a party organizer, connector and formidable selector. He is also honing his craft as a skillful producer and we are looking forward to the projects he is working on. Definitely one to keep an eye on!

Above all, Liam is an incredible human being who lives and breathes music and we are more than excited to share this podcast of his.

Polychrome Radio - Episode 2 - Liam Binnie

It felt more than natural to invite Jonny Wednesday to take the driving seat of the Polychrome Radio for its eleventh installment, and for many reasons. 

Amsterdam based and Manchester raised, Jono’s musical culture is deeply rooted and it is both felt and heard. Talented producer with some great music on the way, skilled selector as displayed during his memorable closing of sissi's expo resto main room during RPU’s hybrid future event, and radio host with a vision with his Night Time Unity show at Feed Amsterdam, he is meaningfully active and thrives into carrying a whole community with him on his journey, while building bridges.

With this vinyl only podcast, Jono offered us a lovely part of his house record collection, navigating effortlessly through the wide spectrum that offers this genre that we love so much.

Polychrome Radio - Episode 11 - Jonny Wednesday

After a small hiatus, Polychrome Radio returns to offer the stage to not only a great DJ but also to one of the silent architects of Amsterdam's cultural scene. Pieter de Beaufort impressive work ethic, open mindedness and sharp eye for talent has been instrumental in the recent very active music programming of Oost's multidisciplinary and unique venue, Studio/K. 

As the space's cultural programmer, Pieter has been involved with several local and international projects. Some highlights from the past year include multidisciplinary showcases with Immaterial.Archives and Violazioni Sonore. He also co-organized Sapodilla; an event that explored the origins of house and techno music and its fundamental relation to black and black queer identity and activism through a documentary screening, a panel talk and a subsequent club night at Garage Noord. On top of this, he is currently working on an international collaborative project focused on the intersection between technology, visual art, and music, creating multidisciplinary events throughout Europe that include audiovisual performances, club nights, workshops, and exhibitions.

About the podcast, he expressed "the wish to explore multiple sounds within the realms of ambient, deep techno, and leftfield d&b. I stayed close to my sound by sticking to the eerie atmospheres and multi-deck layers of hypnotic rhythms that form an integral part of my sets. Throughout the set, you’ll find a steady amount of groove at its foundation."

This recording is a very deep voyage into the realms of deeper techno. We felt that groove as much as we felt the unique energy that Pieter has. The energy of the passion for carefully curated music and art. Enjoy !

Polychrome Radio - Episode 12 - deBeau

It is by pressing play on the fourth installment of event collective Likeminded podcast series that we got introduced to Koen FM's very unique musical universe. We immediately wanted to hear more from him and his collection of records. 

Koen is a Montessori primary school teacher based in Amsterdam. Besides being a teacher, he has been collecting electronic music for +/- 15 years and DJ’ing every now and then.

Talking about his selection for this podcast, he shared the following with us: "I’ve always been fascinated by cosmic, dubby, ambient, techno and downtempo sounds like you could hear on MTV chill out zone back when I was little. Although I do check new stuff that comes out, I mostly like to dig through records that come from the ’90s. This mix contains a bit of both, older and newer tunes. Some digital and some vinyl records."

Koen does not often record podcasts, and we are super thankful to have his contribution for our series. He once again opened up the doors to his psychedelic, cosmic and very cinematic music selection, offering the Polychrome Radio its first downtempo podcast, and a simply superb recording.

Polychrome Radio - Episode 18 - koen.fm

Our Polychrome Radio series is turning 21 with a wonder of a selection by  ZTO. 

We met Tommy for the first time at the @oneyewitness HQ, but several other encounters on dance floors and digging sessions at @killacutzrecords sealed our connection around music. Tommy is as passionate and hard working as we are, silently but surely shaping his sound and creating his own blue print as a selector. 

This podcast showcases great class and maturity both in the selection and execution. The groove is seamless, taking the listener through different shades of minimal and tech house, guided by deep bass lines, haunting pads and very timely vocal samples that captures the mind. 

Being part of one of the most influential record purveyors comes with some responsibilities, and with this podcast ZTO takes them fully and showcases his talent and vision. We have been playing it on repeat, and are excited to share it and follow his journey as an artist. Enjoy!

For this 22nd episode of the Polychrome Radio, we welcome our co-founder Hervé.

He provides us with a podcast where he navigates between techno and tech house with a deep yet sexy and uplifting dance floor selection.

He shared the following thoughts about it: “It feels good to break free, be yourself and go back to the core. This recording deeply resonates a past period filled with self-reflection, personal growth and happiness. It is to me first a dance, about friendship and acceptance. All in music, always”.

Polychrome Radio - Episode 22 - Hervé

For this twenty-third episode of Polychrome Radio, we have the honor of hosting Bristol’s very own Farrell in our collection of recordings. Chris has been instrumental in shaping the port city sound through Idle Hands label and legendary record store, providing a unanimously respected and influential platform to Bristol’s underground electronic music scene, now very well represented on the global stage. 

The multiple crisis that the UK independent record industry faces opened the door to doubt, but also to re-invention. Chris Farrell’s resilience, incredible drive, resilience, vision and artist discovery and music selection talents are his best assets, and he has been making use of them over the past months. With a new record label ‘Devil’s Work’ (whose first release is a must-listen) and remarked DJ performances at @loveintfestival and @houghtonfestival , Chris Farrell has been opening new avenues and expressing his creativity in novel ways.

This podcast is a perfect reflection of it. Seamlessly flowing through dub bass lines, percussive rhythms, deep & hypnotic techno and UK flavored tech house, it is a masterclass where the focus is placed on a progressive dancefloor experience and musical storytelling. And one thing is sure, the beautiful story that he is still writing leads to the dance floor. Enjoy!

Polychrome Radio - Episode 23 - Farrell

Barcelona and Amsterdam based producers and DJ duo Iro Aka is taking control of episode 24 of Polychrome Radio.

When visual artist and friend Gerard Musquera shares music with us it usually means something special, and introducing us to David and Carles’ catalogue definitely was. We fell in love with their sound which covers a wide spectrum from IDM to Techno while keeping a deep and hypnotic touch that makes it unique and recognisable at first listen. Meeting David for the first time during our June De School gathering simply confirmed that Iro Aka deeply shared the vision, values and mindset that make Polychrome, and laid the basis for a friendship both on and off the dance floors.

When harmony in sound and passion ties  two artists, it leads to beautiful results. David and Carles are in sync, and living in two different cities did not get in the way of their vision and work ethic. We keep on being amazed by the level of consistency in their creative process, from their already rich catalogue, latest critically acclaimed (and simply incredible) Planet Earth album on @hivern_disc , to their super well curated and executed selections. It forces the attention.

Iro Aka transports us in a tunnel of hypnotism and deep psychedelia carried by polyrhythms, floating subtle melodies and acid sounds. This recording perfectly captures the duo’s psilocybine infused sound, driving and mind opening. A real trip that we are so happy to share with you. Enjoy 🍄

When koen.fm (@koenmulder) reached out to us a couple of weeks ago with the recording of his set during our Sound Session at De School, we immediately knew that it would be a special one. 

Koen's very unique collection of sounds has been inspiring us over the past years, and deserves an exceptional step aside of our Polychrome Radio series. 

Expect a psychedelic and soothing flow, perfectly catered for warm light and longer days. Enjoy the ride!

Subtlety is a trait that sets GAPPIEOUWE apart. Daan has been carving his own lane by experimenting with fast paced electronic psychedelia, creating an elusive sound and an aesthetic of his own. 

There is a touch of mystery around GAPPIEOUWE’s artistry, a sense of complex emotions in his selection, and always great class in the execution. With standout performances at @radionamsterdam or @deschoolamsterdam Het Einde, regular radio performances and his own ULTRA SERIES podcast on SC, he consistently offers an open perspective of hypnotic club sounds. Performing at high level in activities beyond music requires discipline and hard work, and both are felt in his craft. Polychrome Radio on Echobox - Episode 30 - GAPPIEOUWE

Amsterdam-based @polychrome_audio returns with a two-part compilation featuring label’s favorites and showcasing its singular curation and perspective on club sounds. 

Part I - Diffraction EP - takes you through the full journey of waveforms traveling through our beloved clubs. Sparking the A-side, Hong Kong’s wonder producer and @mihnclub resident @oliviaxiaolin fires up with a progressive and flamboyant house cut, opening an ambitious dance. The tension is taken one notch deeper with Barcelona’s duo @_iroaka_ signature hypnotic and driving techno sound, dimming the lights for an introspective groove. On the B-side, Lyon’s @julie_desire_ flirts with an electrifying psy-infused track where pounding beats and floating melodies dance in harmony and psychedelia. It is in a firework that Dublin’s prodigy @_dylan.forbes closes out the EP, with an energetic progressive anthem that will light up the space.

PA005 - Diffraction EP - snippets

Amsterdam-based @polychrome_audio returns with a two-part compilation featuring label’s favorites and showcasing its singular curation and perspective on club sounds. 

Part II - The dance floor is also a space of self-reflection. The A-side is catered by two artists from one of our favorite collectives, @delichting . With “A Reflection”, @rds_dl opens up and shares a beautifully crafted house gem, providing for a soft and introspective yet groovy “eyes closed” dance. @nathankofiii takes on the A2 with his unique deep house sound, layering sweet and cinematic synth sounds over an Afro-induced drum sequencing, creating a warm sonic envelope. On the B-side, James Free mixes acid synthesis, roaring bass line, and breaks to create a progressive and subtly melodic dance floor track, one that leaves you positively triggered. With the final track of the record, Rotterdam’s @julian__mata_disk offers a glowing light over polyrhythms and very electronic noises, offering this body of work a deserved radiating curtain close.

PA006 - Reflection EP - snippets

While writing his own life chapters, @olafboswijk has had an impact on many of ours. Creativity offers avenues to change our perceptions. Fostering it through spaces, initiatives and support allows for this movement to amplify. When used for the better, can it change the world? One thing is sure, it can change lives.

From offering his creative vision to Club 11, to leading Trouw’s legacy and laying the foundation for the dance floor that De School was, it is many of our lives that Olaf changed. These spaces changed perspectives, and opened avenues to new realities through underground cultures, design and a sense of community.

In @temporary.pleasure important book on the history of nightclubs, Olaf shares that he 'firmly believes in temporary projects’. Chapters are meant to be closed for new ones to open. Traveling and living throughout Latin America for the past 3 years and co-founding art research project Valley of the Possible in Chile reflects on how intentional change can be celebrated.

Music has always been the thread, and as a DJ he explores as much as in real life. His eclectic selection of music spanning from world music to disco, house and techno showcases an open mind, and the remains of sounds that resonated in Trouw. It is great to have Olaf Boswijk back in Amsterdam for a new chapter, but first to offer us an hour of music on this episode of Polychrome Radio on Echobox Radio. Tune in and enjoy !

This episode of Polychrome Radio is special for so many reasons. RDS isn’t just an artist who dedicates himself tirelessly to perfecting the craft of writing and selecting music—he’s also a dear friend who’s been part of our label’s journey from the very beginning.

Rein has inspired our curation and sound for years, generously sharing his music with us and opening up his eclectic record collection to our delight. It’s been amazing to witness his journey, release after release, as he continues to raise the bar.

This set was recorded during our Polychrome x Spectral Bounce night at Multipla. In the upstairs room, bathed in red lights and soft smoke, we sat on the floor with eyes closed, swaying to the most beautiful IDM records. The first hour of the set airs today on Echobox Radio at 17:00, with the full performance available soon on our SoundCloud.

Fresh off the release of his critically acclaimed debut album E-Mutations on De Lichting, a key track on PA005, and with an upcoming full EP on Polychrome, this episode is a victory lap celebrating friendship and music. Tune in, take some time for yourself, and enjoy ✨

Polychrome Radio on Echobox - Episode 33 - RDS

“I've collaborated with Polychrome for quite some time. I performed at their one-year anniversary at Sexyland and, along with Eversines, played at their ADE 2022 party. Additionally, I contributed to their recent "Reflection EP." Throughout this collaboration, we became friends. Hervé, one of the core members of the group, asked me numerous times to create an EP together. It wasn't until his wedding that I finally said yes (how fitting!).

The first track of the EP is "Laak," a tune I created the day after playing at the club in Den Haag. I thoroughly enjoyed DJing at this venue with its impressive sound system. It inspired me to work on the low reese-bass that forms the core foundation of the track. Hervé and I decided to dedicate the entire A-side to this tune, as we had discussed how nice it would be to have a 45-side on this EP.

The second side focuses more on the emotional aspects we appreciate. "Underwater (Dream Mix)" opens this side with an uptempo techno-ish foundation and trancy melodies, fitting the label's aesthetic perfectly. The track's name stems from my unintentional creation of very "underwater" sounding pads during the recording session (note to self: next time double-check if the mix is alright). The EP concludes with "Reassociate," a tune heavily inspired by the early 2000s IDM gems we adore.”

For this new episode of Polychrome Radio at 17:00 on @echoboxradio , we are hosting creative mastermind, selector, crew member and friend @geri_x.

Geri’s perspective on design and music has been channeling an inspiring energy around him, building bridges between communities and offering his visual talents to our vision. Member of creative community @__rpu__ , visual designer of Polychrome and co-founder of new concept agency @misuse.creatives , he has been defining a unique aesthetic and approach to collaboration.

Music is at the core of everything he does, and the wide range of sounds that he plays simply reflects the sensitivity of an artist who finds beauty where it is. From ravey sounds to rolling grooves, leftfield explorations to ambient journeys, Geri is a dj that can be trusted in any setting. Performing very regularly, he always impresses by his ability to connect with the floor, while sharing is very communicative positive energy.

It is during spring this year, on Club RAUM dance floor that we first saw justin case perform, opening the Boutique room. Setting the tone for a night in such a club is not an easy exercise. They set the energy in the right place from the start, not shying away from venturing through electro and techno, thick bass lines and clashing drums.

@eleni-justincase is more than a dj, they are an artist that expresses their sensitivity not only through music but also through words. A researcher and writer, they explore connections between queerness and our society’s constructs. Challenging, breaking down and opening ideas requires the ability to shift the frame, a skill that offers the freedom to explore, also in music.

Because it is there that her research in the night starts, as a dancer. One that fully experiences music, soaking in the energies and sounds, while defining her own.

Exploring bass frequencies and UK influenced club music, ISA W perfectly paces the rhythm and is open to merging cultures through sounds. After recording a beautiful episode of RPU’s Aquatic Gardens and blessing  the Surface Massief night at Noord Space , Isabel is taking the reins of Polychrome Radio for an hour through her collection, and we are honored.

It’s refreshing to feel such care and vision for music and the cultures that surround it. We first discovered @Lula_Luna as an artist through her listening selections—whether played on radio shows or released on her own SoundCloud.

A certain sensitivity shines through her sets. Her selections spark the imagination and inspire new flows. From ambient escapes to dub-infused electronics, there’s a grounding element that ties her sound together—understated yet powerful.

As part of the Possibilities Open Studio crew, Lou has been exploring her creative self by curating events that move the needle, while researching music aesthetics and experiences. Alongside this beautiful cover shot by Mark Loopstra, she shared with us a few nature photographs taken in Gran Canaria. A soft visual reminder that sounds require space and time.

After offering Polychrome a beautiful closing composition on its various artists compilation Reflection EP, Rotterdam live act, producer, and DJ @matadisk returns to the label with LFH-Proxy EP set for release on Friday 27.06

Featuring two original club tracks and their interpretations by producers @eversines and Jopie (@user-335177236) , this project further cements Julian Determann’s singular musical identity while opening it up to new dimensions and patterns.

A1. Life Force Harmonizer (“LFH”) opens the dance by capturing the sweet nostalgia experienced during club morning hours. Mata Disk’s sound palette is here in full display, the energy carried by sharp drum design and a propulsive bassline is lifted by melodious pads offering the track its tenderness. On the B1, Rotterdam producer Jopie creatively re-imagined these feelings, stripping down and reshaping LFH onto a track flirting with breaks and IDM progressions.

With Proxy, Mata Disk dims the light slightly, with a drum workout track to keep the dance alive. The very progressive and low-end focused build-up paired with a tension-building synthesized lead offers the A2 track a smooth build-up. De Lichting member Eversines elegantly switches the sound narrative, transforming Proxy into a dark electro-leaning tech house track carrying the same tension. Adding emotion into the mix with an anthemic melodic lead, Eversines’ Proxy Ziggo Mix serves as a perfect closer.

For this next episode of Polychrome Radio , it is our pleasure to invite one of the label’s oldest friends, Random Spirit ⚛️

A core member of RPU, Francesco has been offering his energy to the underground scene for years, helping create raves and parties that still today are our favorite dances. Involved in building the Noord Space community and part of the Spores crew, he has been dedicating his time to creating spaces for music and exchange.

Random Spirit is constantly in the search for new musical avenues both as a dj and producer. Always navigating in between the lines, he researches the sounds that connect minimal, trance and electro, unearthing music that we rarely get the chance to listen to. As a producer, he gets the freedom to design his own world, one that merges a certain sensitivity to the raw energy of the rave.

This moment is a special one, as it is with a lot of care and excitement that we will experience what he has prepared for this episode. See you on the airwaves! 📡

Today at 18:00, it is our pleasure to host Amsterdam-based artist dj and producer Jerrau for our Polychrome Radio episode on Echobox Radio📡

Jerrau has been making us dance for some years now. Navigating between percussive grooves, bass heavy cuts and deeper escapes with ease and flow, the Dutch-Surinamese selector keeps on adding memorable performances to his portfolio. Whether it is at Horst Arts & Music Festival, Dekmantel, Club Raum or Garage Noord, Jerrau constantly offers glimpses of his library and shades of his colorful palette, never compromising on his influences and inspirations. 

Very involved in Amsterdam’s nightlife through programming and curation, his process is fueled by artistic curiosity and anchored within a constantly evolving ecosystem. As Jerrau continues to experiment with rhythms and sounds, he keeps on reinventing himself while building bridges between shifting generations of dancers.

We are very excited of having Jerrau today, and can’t wait to showcase the music that moves him!
