Lindsey Wang, the mind behind Polygonia, is a versatile musician and artist based in Munich, Germany. A long time before her electronic music journey began, she explored the realms of several acoustic instruments intensively. This skill combined with studies of various other art forms, inspired the artist to translate her understanding of rhythm, composition and experimentalism into the digital
music language.

Her sound identity is driven by a mystic, deep and organic character which is enriched with acoustic elements built into the genres of deep techno, downtempo and ambient.
Polygonia already released her music on several labels like Lowless, Jazz-o- Tech, On Board Music, Lett Records, Alexandar and more. She expresses herself in various ways through Live- and DJ-Sets. Her audio color palette covers a huge spectrum from calm and harmonic sounds to polyrhythmic dark grooves.

Together with Dycide and MTRL she founded the ambient and deep techno label
IO.

Besides that, she has a collaborative project on Harmony coming up in late 2023 that we are very much looking forward to.  💚

Thrilled to host one of my current favourites & major inspirations, the insanely talented @polygonia for number #120. An ever-impressive force,  Polygonia known for her driving, organic & eclectic productions & beautifully deep, percussive dj style.

I was lucky enough to see Linni play live at Monument festival in Norway last year and was blown away.. her ability to seamlessly fuse psychedelic melodies, driving basslines & unique percussive rifts, all in a somehow soothing yet driving manner, is truely a work of art.

Animix One Hundred & Twenty: Polygonia

After playing so many very fast peak time set with 133-145 BPM I felt like it was time to dive into another direction in this journey. It is such a refreshment for the musical mind to explore as many facets of the own sonical language as possible. This time I composed some pulsating deepest depth ambient tunes from which slow grooves arise over time. It feels a bit like waking up after winter and getting ready for all the things to come in spring, summer and autumn.

Pianeti Sintetici ('synthetic planets' in Italian) is a new conceptual project by Davide Perrone (Primal Code) that draws inspiration from the factories of Magrathea, a planet in Douglas Adams' classic space opera The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, where artificial planets are manufactured on commission.

“This concept has always fascinated me, and I chose the name to frame a hypothetical future of synthetic worlds, told with sound,' Davide says. 'I like to imagine the howls of creatures inhabiting solar systems outside our own. Rarefied atmospheres, alien sequences, and unfamiliar tonal scales. So, I see Pianeti Sintetici as an open-ended design research project where I can explore these inspirations.”

Pianeti Sintetici already has three stand out releases on the legendary Hypnus records and has played a string of mind bending shows, including this mix, which is a live set from the 2023 edition of Positive Education. Tune in for high fidelity alien psychadelia teased over hypnotizing interstellar grooves 👽👾🛸

For the 119th episode of our podcast series, we're thrilled to welcome the amazing Japanese artist: DJ  YAZI.

His set, created as a deep introspective sonic journey, takes the listener through different energy levels, from nostalgic sounds to more uplifting vibes. His unique mix of hypnotic grooves and trippy elements really showcases his great sense of storytelling.

DJ Yazi is an original member and DJ of "Think Tank," a group of menacing black smoke collective that continues to pour out high-purity deep trip music, and the resident DJ of El Nino, the organizer of "Black Smoker Records”. He is a man who is trusted for his ability to manipulate a variety of genres and color the floor with his own unique style. He hosts the techno/industrial-based event "Konvektion" with Takaaki Itoh.

He has also provided mixes for world-class platforms such as Bassiani, Dimensions, CrackMagazine, and Dekmantel.

With a strong focus on the scene, he has been expanding his activities not only in Japan but also in Europe and internationally, and has been shaking up various late nights with beautiful colors in the twilight of the night.

유타는 트랜스 씬에서의 다양한 경험을 바탕으로 2016년 Liquid Drop Groove(LDG)라는 이름의 레이블을 설립하였다. 그는 레지던트 디제이로 활동하고 있는 도쿄의 클럽 VENT에서 LDG 레이블 쇼케이스를 지속적으로 진행하는 한편, 아웃도어 파티 Agaitida, EDEN 및 실내 페스티벌 SPECTACLE를 론칭하고, 조지아의 클럽/레이블 Bassiani와의 콜라보레이션 시리즈, Ness가 이끄는 레이블 TGP와의 콜라보레이션 시리즈를 기획하며 자신과 레이블의 잠재력을 극대화하는 다양한 활동을 선보이고 있다.

After 10 years of trance career and numerous achievements, YUTA switched to techno in 2015, launched Liquid Drop Groove in 2016, releasing music, podcasts, video streaming, and in 2023 started the vinyl label TGPXLDG with NESS. In addition, he has taken a wide range of approaches to maximize the label's potential, including memorable outdoor parties such as Agaitida and EDEN, the indoor festival SPECTACLE, and Bassiani Tokyo collaboration series with overseas labels. YUTA creatives LDG label showcase at VENT and other venues which is the axis of all expression, deep techno Pendulum at ENTER (formerly Contact Club), and techno/minimal mixture party Red Lightning at MITSUKI.
YUTA's main activity DJ, a resident at the well-known VENT club in Tokyo. His music style is based on techno with deep/trancy and hypnotic/dubby, sometimes with breaks and bass, sometimes tribal/acid on house, and is characterized by a psychedelic groove and cinematic flow that he creates freely. In recent years, YUTA has toured extensively Asia, and performed at Quarry Stage in Wonderfruit in Thailand, the cave festivals Equation and Retreat in Vietnam, and clubs at SAVAGE and The Observatory in Vietnam, at Zhaodai and WIGWAM in China etc. In Europe, at Gare in Porto, at aboutblank in Berlin etc, festivals such as Modem in Croatia and OZORA in Hungary. In Japan such as rural and Moment, and DJ Nobu's legendary Future Terror. And the new adventure continues in Colombia, South America.
YUTA has also provided DJ mixes for NTS Radio in UK, Monument in Norway, Illegal Alien in Mexico and more. Also making only a few tracks a year with modular master O-MA. YUTA is one of those mavericks from Tokyo to the world.

Systeme Biotic-Neoverse [Dark Nature Concept]

Mix 73 is a very special treat from the Italian duo Plants Army Revolver, formed in 2014 by Birgan Valentin and Marco Ragni. Their refined ability to craft organic and analog soundscapes has captured the attention of the scene's most lauded outlets, including recent live sets for Hypnus & Inveins, and a just-released EP "Yguana" on Shifted's Avian label. Far from content to rest on their creative laurels, the pair have recorded a unique live set for our series, one which unfolds beautifully from beginning to end and provides a precious glimpse into their studio process.

The unsettling terrain of Evigt Mörker's world can be broken up into a few frenetic parts that give the overall impression of a serene habitat. There's the otherworldly foreground of his techno works that are blissfully psychedelic as well as carefully structured for the most subtly disorientating shifts, and hovering amongst this is his wholesome grasp on the purpose and consequence of melody. Together, this is Evigt Mörker's deadly and addictive mix.

Hailing from Sweden, some initial forays into bands in his youth went hand-in-hand with an early exposure to techno. Yet it was the illegal rave scene in Stockholm that would prove to be most formative. The circuit of DJing and parties soon fed into the need to create a platform from which to work, and so the identity and label Evigt Mörker came into being in 2013. The first three releases cemented Evigt Mörker's ability to rouse melodic dynamics out of an ambient setting. Whether settling and fixating on a rhythmic pattern, or shuffling through different emotions, often these tracks would career into rapturous dancefloor pieces. It didn't take long until the formidable Semantica Records tapped him for a release, which produced the stunning EP, 'Helmet of Bones.' From this point, Evigt Mörker would come under the austere wing of Northern Electronics. Two terse yet incandescent EPs, along with a fourth release on his own label, have charged the air for his debut album, 'Krona'. Appearing on Northern Electronics, a brooding intensity defines the album, as well as a technical dexterity for carving dissonance into lush techno tools.

For those that have witnessed Evigt Mörker live or as DJ, a different side to his recorded output comes into play. Often far more forceful than his releases, there's an energetic and rhythmic power reserved for these moments. It's perhaps this versatility that's kept him in such high demand as a remixer. Taken to the other end of the spectrum, Evigt Mörker's live shows are capable of elegant ambient pieces, if holding a dancefloor down isn't the modus operandi.
