This piano improv is raw, and very very far from perfect. Unlike all of my other tracks, which are meticulously composed, this piece is an unedited improv that conveys the grieving emotion of a breakup.

Heartbreak Blues (Live Improv)

This track borrows just the air-voice loop from the public domain samples, the rest is lovingly made from scratch. Synths used: Model 84, Model 82, Vital, Syleth1, Kick2 and Alesis Drum kit was used to layout the two separate layers of drums.

This is track played live on Native Instruments Maschine mk2, recorded into the Logic, refined there, and mastered in Logic as well.

Mechanical Sadness

A trippy and layered downtempo track with a heavy bass and slamming beat, the entire track is inspired by one of the public domain Scarface Breaks.

This track started with a recorded acoustic bass loop for a brazilian Samba.  It then evolved into something else.

Sadness is probably the strongest emotion that can be felt throughout this track, sadness about being *without* someone else. Someone you've lost, perhaps forever.

Dreaming Down – Feat. Amber Rae

This track was made in approximately 12 hours from start to finish, by using various royalty free vocal samples supplied with Logic Pro 9. Bass, keys, drum programming, textures and production are all original.


One Two Listen

This track was played live on a piano, then overlaid with bass, jazz drums, synth and a vocal sample. The entire track is a continuous recording, done five times over — each time to add a new instrument. The only editing applied was mild EQ and mastering.

PolyGroovers got started by a young couple in 2001, Konstantin Gredeskoul & Telene Johnston, who got married shortly thereafter. Konstantin was the brains behind compositions, lyrics, and song arrangements, while Telene contributed her beautiful voice on many of the vocal tracks.

As time went on, Konstantin and Telene parted ways. Konstantin remained as the solo creative force behind it, but took a long break after releasing their second album "Tips and Tricks". 

PolyGroovers are known for bringing groovy downtempo, filled with lush harmonies and unexpected polyrhythms, shaken by the funky bass lines and progressively intricate melodies.

PolyGroovers released a total of two albums, "Moods for Taking Out" (2006) and "Trips and Ticks" (2009), that are available on iTunes, Spotify, CDBaby, and many other online outlets.
