Brown EP Launch Party (Live from Black Bear Lodge, Fortitude Valley, 24 April 2023)

The first live feature-length performance of my debut album, In The Spirit Of Diaspora. This performance was part of an evening I curated titled, "Diasporic Visions". Diasporic Visions was an iteration of the Cave Inn's Experimental Nights, which run as a fortnightly Tuesday fixture. The evening featured Tokio Ardent and Huda The Goddess.  

The Cave Inn was where I performed for the very first time, nervous and unaware of what was to come, but nevertheless excited. Thank you to Hayden (Isadora Chadeaux) for pushing me to do that initial performance. Without you, things would never have come full-circle as they did. Thank you to Boddhi for looking after sound for the evening. Thank you to all who came to witness. 

It was a very emotional performance. I had thoughts of channelling the millennia of ancestors who had come before me. Those who came before colonisation. Before the modern technologies that enabled this release. Before Diaspora. They performed in their own spirits, and their spirits live on, through me - beyond the heart and before the stage. 



This performance took place on the stolen lands of the Yuggera, Turrbal, Ugurapul and Quandamooka peoples. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Here, we use our divination board to peer into the future. On that board we find Quincy Raw reincarnate, taking those shiny, clairvoyant bells to make a flesh we have yet to embody.

Full of Air Finale

This show was broadcast on the stolen soil of the Yuggera, Turrbal, Ugarapul and Quandamooka peoples. Sovereignty was never ceded. This always, and always be, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Land.

An exclusively vinyl show featuring black matriarchs. 
The centrepiece is Huda's debut studio album release, Story Of Another Soul. It was produced in collaboration with Reuben Lewis on Wurundjeri and Woi-wurrung lands of the Kulin Nation.

eccu-mii draws us in with a smooth and haunting rework of polyharmony's baritone spoken word poetry. it twists and turns, giving us glimpses of elegant harpsichord then back to industrial gabber, concretising the track even further. it feels like a track that belongs in the early hours of a warehouse rave, drawing you in and making you reflect on the relationship vis-à-vis coloniser and colonised...who live side-by-side in the "West" but still do not understand one another at all...

we wade in the water
head suddenly submerged,
out of the ritual that has been
unholy for all time,
