Roel Funcken - the Candarian Ruins ep 

Its a Collection of 7 tracks all made in the last couple of months. They were all attached to different projects but didn’t make the final cut but somehow really have a nice fit together and gives the listener a glimpse of the different projects i was working on. The title comes from the classic cult movie Evil Dead which i recently re-watched, i just really like the sound of those words. 

1	Jimbacrinus Crinoid

An ambient track made in the period of the promethean plunder area,  The base of it is generated in ableton with a bunch of generative plugins. 

2	Dalanx Phemonto

This is the second last track i made, very idm ish funck style going on, with 87 bpm 7/4 measure. Hint, this is the opening track of the recent mix i did for Analogical Force. 

3	Coprinellus Disseminatus

This one is a bit older, most of the melodies are generated with the newfangled audio plugin called generate which uses Chaotic synthesis, with give the chords a very distinctive character. 

4	Gorreliann plasebant 2

Also is made around the Promethean Plunder area, i really aimed to do a bit of a Tim Hecker, Autechre type ambient track. Think especially there is a bit of a Hecker vibe going on because of a particular sound that i synthesised. Part 1 is the short version in available trough my Funckd subscription. 

5	Goff Mideon

I sampled a Harp from somewhere, pitched it down a whole lot, cutted it into a million pieces and rearranged it, added beat and bass and voila. 

6	The Candarian Ruins

The Title track is also in the Analogical Force mix. Its a pretty uplifting dance track, lots of arpeggios, kick, snare idm beat in the background and Bass. 

7	Clash Ollson

Completely Generative, with a free bundle that comes with Ableton 11. Its a real fun way to generate ideas quickly. 


EP will be released first of may 2021 for now just on bandcamp.

Earlier this year we released a Free Samplepack by Flint Kids that accompanied his “Sancerre” EP.

Followed by a great deal of positive feedback, we decided to hold a contest: entrants were to simply make a track from the sounds in the pack + a handful of their own, but no more. Best tracks were to be released on a compilation but we received so many high quality tracks that we had no other choice but to make two compilations.

The result of this experiment are these two V/A’s entitled Field Emitter (18 tracks) & Antibody (10 tracks).
