Short description of the work

The compositions I know by Éliane Radigue resemble a stream of sounds—a single, long, flowing, wide-ranging tone that constantly changes and shifts in different “colours”. In one composition I heard, this stream of sound moved very slowly, almost imperceptibly, from the back left to the front right—diagonally.

Several years ago, I attended a workshop given by Éliane Radigue in Berlin and became acquainted with her work with synthesizers.

When I began working on my piece Flow, I intended to create a composition of this kind and mainly developed sounds that seem like long sustained tones. I arranged these so that several sound simultaneously or overlap. To make this stream of sound more interesting and varied, I interspersed a few shorter sounds here and there. In some places, you can also hear human breathing or hissing noises.

Die Kompositionen, die ich von Éliane Radigue kenne, gleichen einem Strom aus Klängen – wie ein einziger, lang gezogener, fließender, breit gefächerter Ton, der sich ständig verändert und in verschiedenen „Farben“ changiert. Bei einer Komposition, die ich gehört habe, bewegte sich dieser Klangstrom ganz langsam, kaum merklich von hinten links nach vorne rechts – diagonal.

Vor etlichen Jahren habe ich einen Workshop, den Éliane Radigue in Berlin gegeben hat, besucht und dabei ihre Arbeit mit Synthesizern kennen gelernt.

Als ich mit der Arbeit an meinem Stück „Flow“ begonnen habe, hatte ich vor, eine Komposition in dieser Art zu schaffen und habe hauptsächlich Klänge entwickelt, die wie lang ausgehaltene Töne wirken. Diese habe ich so angeordnet, dass mehrere gleichzeitig klingen oder sich überlappen. Um diesen Klangstrom interessanter und abwechslungsreicher zu gestalten, habe ich hier und da einige kürzere Klänge eingestreut. An einigen Stellen hört man auch menschliche Atem- oder Zischgeräusche.

It’s strange how little things come back to you

A quietly epic, all-acoustic instrumental in 7/4, built around some simple melodic ideas voiced across ukuleles, acoustic guitars, and acoustic bass—exploring phrasing, articulation, and rhythmic displacement rather than repetition.

Fingerpicked and slide guitar lines intertwine with a grounded bass pulse and muted, organic percussion, creating a sense of forward motion that feels both playful and stubborn, light yet quietly profound.

The piece leans toward acoustic post-rock and organic prog, with cinematic, travel-adventure overtones and a strong melodic focus.

Live recording with prepared (on the fly) percussion.. it's a south Italy percussive instrument called: tammorra, also knows as tamburello (but without jingles) ... The sounds were taken with a cheap contact microphone (eko guitars Fasi pickup) and the phone near the speakers ..
A nice and fun experience, is good to have new samples for Building textures, i'll have further investigation on It..
